The golf world was up in a frenzy as Collin Morikawa revealed his status with the ongoing controversy involving the PGA Tour. Due to the same, many fans believe that the time is near when the Tour players would be divided into the ones who wish to stay with the Tour and ones who part ways. Notably, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are two of the many star golfers who have revealed their decision so far.

Greg Norman has planned a big-budget golf league for players all over the world under the Asian Tour. Although many golfers have shown an interest in joining the league, some have chosen not to.
In fact, reports state the league had offered a huge appearance fee to Woods. However, he chose not to accept it, stating that his legacy is at the PGA Tour.
Like Woods, Brooks Koepka and Justin Thomas also believed in the potential of the PGA Tour and rejected the league’s offers. Rory McIlroy, too, had earlier revealed his intentions of not joining the league. He explained that he would choose the quality of the tournament over money.
Collin Morikawa to join Tiger Woods and others?
In a Twitter post, a Golf Digest reporter revealed that Morikawa has expressed his intentions to stay at the PGA Tour.
Collin Morikawa unequivocal in his position on Saudi: "I'm all for the PGA Tour."
By my count that's Collin, Tiger, Rory, Brooks and JT who've all said they won't be leaving. Really does feel like this thing is coming to a head. There's a divide on Tour. Cracks starting to show.

The reporter tweeted, “Collin Morikawa unequivocal in his position on Saudi: “I’m all for the PGA Tour.” By my count that’s Collin, Tiger, Rory, Brooks and JT who’ve all said they won’t be leaving. Really does feel like this thing is coming to a head. There’s a divide on Tour. Cracks starting to show.”

Another golf writer, Rex Hoggard, added this to his Twitter:
Morikawa on the rumored super league: "The best players, as far as I see, are all sticking with the PGA Tour," he said.

Fans reaction to the news
Robert Lusetich, the author of Woods’ biography ‘Unplayable’, was quick to reveal his thoughts on the matter. He wrote:
The divide will be between those wanting to win majors (and young enough to do it) and those who are done winning them and looking for a big payday.

Some fans believed that the Saudi league would be a forgotten past in no time. One of them even said:

Although most fans were supporting the players who were staying on the Tour, some didn’t reciprocate the idea. One such fan wrote:

Those 5 guys all know the PGA will take care of them. No reason for them to wonder if the grass is greener. It’s likely not greener for a multitude of reasons.
Money talks. If you aren’t a PGA Tour Golden Boy… it can’t be shocking that you are thinking about the options.

All of these players still believing they have the time and skill to build a long term legacy. It would be a shock to see Rahm and Hovland opt in as well. Bryson to me is the wild card here and that’s probably why they are going to offer him the most money.

Notably, the future of the league is still uncertain. But sadly, as major golfers begin to pick sides, fans can’t help but believe that the Tour is getting divided. However, until either the Tour or the league makes an official statement, no one can be sure of where this is all headed.
