Collin Morikawa is a young professional on the PGA Tour. Notably, the 25-year-old has achieved a lot in very little time on the PGA Tour. Famed as probably the best youngster on the Tour right now, the two-time major championship winner recently spoke about his childhood dream.

Collin Morikawa opens up on his childhood dream

Since turning professional in the year 2019, Morikawa has achieved various laurels in his career as a professional. He is a five-time winner on the PGA Tour, including two majors and a World Golf Championship win. It has been a hell of a journey for the young 25-year-old. He is also the current World No. 2 as per the Official World Golf Rankings.

Morikawa recently appeared on the Henni and Hally Can’t Quit Golf podcast. There, he spoke about his dream to play against Tiger Woods while growing up. He said, “Growing up, you know, the dream was always to get to number one in the world,  win majors, play against Tiger Woods. I mean, I remember like, putting late at night as a kid or putting in the afternoon after school and like I just thought about playing against Tiger like that was the one thing I wanted to do.”

He added, “And you know, obviously had I had the opportunity to play against him and compete and I’m really thankful for that.”

Morikawa’s words describe his passion for the sport as well as his desire to be the number one in the world. Not to mention, it is truly amazing to see the amount of respect he has for Tiger as a professional.

Morikawa’s last PGA Tour event

Collin played his last event on the 2022 PGA Tour at the Genesis Invitational. The professional ended the tournament with an overall score of 17-under-par. As a result, finishing two shots behind the leader, tied for the second position.

He carded a final round of 65, six-under-par. His final round included three birdies and one bogey on the front nine; As well as one eagle and two birdies on the back nine.
