Has Rickie Fowler won over Puma once again? The 36-year-old has been trending the all-orange outfit for as long as he has been a professional golfer. Fans always loved watching Fowler play in his trademark attire in the final rounds of events. The Murrieta local’s orange ensemble had become a norm in the world of golf. This had earned him a lucrative deal from Cobra/Puma to sponsor his apparel through most of his career.
It’s been 15 years since that deal had first begun and Puma recently confirmed that they will be continuing to sponsor Rickie Fowler. This may have come as a surprise to some considering his bad run of form recently. But the brand still showed faith in Fowler as per the post shared by @NUCLRGOLF on their X account. With an image of a young Fowler in his trademark orange get-up, the caption read, “🚨🍊⛳️ SIGNED — Rickie Fowler & COBRA / PUMA have agreed to terms on a long-term contract extension that will see him continue to play the brands equipment and apparel for many years to come. @RickieLegion”
This takes us back to an article published by GolfWRX in 2013. They stated the kind of impact Rickie Fowler had on the golf community. It mentioned how “The company issued 500 limited edition orange shoes in honor of Fowler’s Sunday all-orange attire, and they sold out instantly.” This suggests that Rickie Fowler‘s association with Cobra/Puma has always been a lucrative deal for both parties.

Quite Tiger Woods-esque for the Fowler-Cobra/Puma collaboration. Even the GOAT’s iconic Sunday red outfit had also made such a statement. Watching the popularity of a professional golfer transcend through to fashion shows how loved golf is around the world.

Rickie Fowler breaking the orange streak
Rickie Fowler has always been seen wearing orange at least once at every event throughout his PGA Tour career. However, that changed in one of his most recent appearances in an unofficial tournament. Fowler joined his on-course partner Lexi Thompson at the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida. The pair were battling it out against other teams at the 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational. Fowler was treated to an amazing birthday celebration surprise by Thompson minutes before the tournament began. The PGA Tour pro was celebrating his 36th birthday on the first day of the tournament and was given an orange cake on the course.

However, Fowler was not wearing his trademark orange outfit during this moment. In fact, he didn’t wear it in the remaining 2 rounds of the event as well. This caught a lot of attention as fans showed their concern about Fowler breaking the tradition. One of them even clarified “The first time he’s done that?” confirming the rarity of the situation. But that still didn’t drive away Cobra/Puma, which is a positive sign for Fowler and his fans.
