The final leg of the Vegas Tour is all set to be played at the new course- The Summit Club. The CJ Cup will be underway from October 14th-17th in Summerlin, Las Vegas. The $9,750,000 purse tournament will witness some of the best players in action and it guarantees a thrilling weekend.
Sponsored by the CJ Group, the cup was played for the first time in 2017. The first three editions were held at the Nine Bridges Golf Club on Jeju Island, South Korea. In 2020, the tournament was shifted due to pandemic travel restrictions and was held in the Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas.

In 2021, for the second consecutive year, the Cup is being hosted in the United States due to the pandemic. Located in the Red Rocks area west of the Vegas Strip, the Summit Golf Club was opened in 2019. Built around a luxurious area, it lies between the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and the Vegas Strip.
What are the challenges expected at the Summit Club?
Like Shadow Creek, Tom Fazio designed this beautiful course surrounded by the natural landscape. The par 72 and 7,422-yard course is located at about 2,000 feet of elevation. Light winds and sunshine is to be expected on all four days. Additionally, the daytime temperature will witness a lowest of upper 60s to a maximum of mid-70s.
Bentgrass blankets the fairway and rough, and the general height of the latter stands at roughly four inches. The surrounding desert waste area will pose a potential hazard for the golfers. Moreover, a man-made creek that runs along with the 9th, 12th, and 13th fairways will pose another danger.
The course is built on naturally undulating land, and a lot of bunkers can be expected. Additionally, no professional tournaments have ever been held on this course, so we can expect a couple of surprising challenges.
