The PGA Tour remains under the sway of inclement weather. The weather adversely impacted the PGA Tour Champions event, the Invited Celebrity Classic, at the Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas, resulting in the regrettable cancellation of the second round. As the conditions continued to disrupt tournaments, the commissioner found themselves fielding numerous questions from the community.

During the RBC Heritage, Jay Monahan faced criticism for holding the tournament under harsh conditions, with some labeling it a “clown show,” despite prior knowledge of the forecast. The weather’s fury also reached THE CJ Cup Byron, causing an unfortunate delay in the first round. Subsequently, the question arises: Will the second round encounter a similar fate, and will the community hold Jay Monahan responsible for it?

Reports indicate that the organizers have scheduled the start of the second round for 6:50 a.m. Pros who have not finished their first round are scheduled to tee off at 8:15 a.m. on Friday. However, the weather forecast isn’t favorable for the pros, with a 20% chance of rain. Although lower than the 90% chance of rain in the first round, the current conditions mean the 20% chance could still pose challenges.

The temperature remains within the comfort zone, fluctuating only slightly from 68°F to 77°F. But, there is more variability in the wind speed, starting at 3-6 mph and expected to increase to 10-15 mph as the day progresses. This could lead to cloud rearrangement and ultimately raise the likelihood of rain.

The PGA Tour can anticipate these weather forecasts before the start of the events to prevent delays. Consequently, the community displayed diverse reactions towards Monahan, labeling it as a “messy week” and more. While uncertainty looms over the weather for the Friday round, another question arises: Will the third and fourth rounds face a similar fate?

Thunderstorms are forecasted for the third round, with a 40% chance of rain, which heightens the likelihood, with an overall prediction of 0.2 to 0.4 inches. Despite the rain being anticipated to start in the afternoon, it could still cause delays for the pros scheduled to tee off during the latter half of the day.

The final round is likely to start seemingly normally, but as the day progresses, there’s a 50% chance of rain, leaving the fate of the final round at the mercy of the weather. Weather-related delays persist for the PGA Tour, while Commissioner Jay Monahan faces a barrage of inquiries simultaneously.
