Earlier this year, Michael Block tied for 15th place at the PGA Championship. Not only did the PGA pro hold his own against the big PGA Tour stars, but he was also the only club pro to make the cut. Even more recently, he took part in the ISPS HANDA Australian Open, and there too he grabbed a top-30 finish, tying at 27.

Undoubtedly, 2023 has been a splendid year for Block, and the fans think so too. In fact, for them, it wasn’t Taylor Swift who deserved the 2023 Times Person of the Year; it was the PGA star. And by taking to Instagram, they made this sentiment very clear!

Just hours ago, Breezy Golf shared a post of the California-born golfer with his hat in his hand against the background of the Times magazine’s cover page, labeling him ‘The Person of the Year’. Hilariously captioned, “Sorry Taylor Swift, Blockie had it this year,” the post paid homage to the PGA star’s brilliant year and garnered the attention of the golf world and even the club pro himself!

While the post went viral, many from the golf world took to cheering on Block and sending in their love to the PGA pro. And amid the many responses was one from the golf pro himself, who couldn’t help but comment on his weird pose while thanking the page for the honor they had bestowed upon him. “I’m not exactly sure what was going on with my mop/toupee that day but thank you @breezygolf,” he wrote.

One fan showed his support for the post and said, “Agreed 💯.”

Another golf fan creatively replaced the word ‘Swiftie’ used by Taylor Swift’s fans and created a tag for Michael Block. He wrote, “In our blockie era,” as he approved the post.

A die-hard Block fan was more than impressed with the edited cover page and had the perfect idea for it: “Turning this into a poster.”

Considering the golf pro has seen his own major share of ups and downs, one fan compared his journey to the famous Cinderella story, and hinting that Block deserves a Tour card for his hard work and skill, he wrote, “PGA Tour needs a Cinderella story.”
