Christiaan Bezuidenhout has had somewhat of a thrilling 2025 PGA Tour season. The South African Golfer has made the cut at all but one event this season, even registering a T4 finish at the WM Phoenix Open. He is currently roaring in the 1st round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational with a 3 under par score that has vaulted him to a T2 position, just 2 strokes behind leader Wyndham Clark.
All this comes after Bezuidenhout made a big decision to change his equipment partner from the start of the season. Callaway used to be his weapon of choice but the golfer decided to switch to PXG (Parsons Xtreme Golf).“We are thrilled to welcome Christiaan Bezuidenhout to the PXG Troops. His passion for golf and commitment to excellence fit right in with what we are all about” stated PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons.
Bezuidenhout also shared why he felt that the partnership benefitted him. He had been testing the equipment since after the TOUR Championship and seemed satisfied with what PXG had to offer. “I had absolute trust in them to put clubs in my hands that perform to the exacting standards I’m looking for. And they have delivered 100 percent! I’m just coming off the back of my best season on the PGA TOUR and I’m absolutely buzzing to get going again. Having PXG equipment in my bag, you know, it makes me even more excited for this season and being able to do what’s necessary to make that next big step up in my career on the PGA TOUR.”

Let’s take a look at what impressed Bezuidenhout late last year that prompted him to make a jump from Callaway Golf.

When it comes to the driver, the South African uses the PXG 0311 Black Ops Tour-2, changed from Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond. It costs around $600 and is presented as a complete package, something that encompasses all the good qualities in a driver. This driver is the most preferred one by the PXG partners on the Tour. No wonder Bezuidenhout was able to card a high score at Bay Hill.

PXG 0317 Cavity Back Irons are the next item in Bezuidenhout’s bag. Available at $219, the irons pack a good range of forgiveness and also give the user good control of the spin that can be imparted on the ball. The sound and the feel complement each other as well. The soft metal, though, is not ideal.
The Johannesburg resident uses the PXG Black Ops fairway woods, which cost nearly $350. The idea behind the club is to optimize performance and give good distance and forgiveness. The materials used allow for that, and it also gives good control for an experienced golfer.

Wedge and Putter choice for Bezuidenhout
The PXG Sugar Daddy III Wedges can impart a high rate of spin. That makes it an attractive addition to any golfer’s bag. The only issue with the $300 wedge is that it tends to wear off easily, compromising on the high quality it delivers. Something more suited for the professionals.
The Odyssey Works Big T#5 Putter has been a staple in the South African’s bag for a long time. Despite shifting from Callaway to PXG, the putter has remained constant. The putter removes skid from the ball, allowing the ball to roll faster. It also offers alignment assists, helping golfers to hit the line more easily.

Bezuidenhout’s ball is Titleist, something that is preferred by a host of players like Ludvig Aberg, Viktor Hovland, Wyndham Clark, Russel Henley, Sahith Theegala, and many others. The South African also uses PXG apparel on the field as part of his partnership with the brand.
Christiaan Bezuidenhout’s closest finish to a PGA Tour title was his 2nd-place finish at the American Express Open. He will be hoping that his new equipment can get him over the hump this season and help him register his first ever PGA Tour title victory. What do you think?
