Australian golfer and CEO of LIV Golf, Greg Norman, recently cited his opinion about the PGA Tour. Fans know of a long ongoing rivalry between the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf. Players have been leaving the PGA Tour and joining Saudi-backed Liv Golf.

Fans are not happy about this whole situation, and neither is Norman. In his recent opinion piece, he wrote that the competition is getting more challenging for the PGA tour. Now the question arises, why is it going to get tough? Is LIV Golf coming with something new?
PGA Tour and monopoly
According to Greg Norman, the PGA tour has been making changes or imitating LIV Golf. Even though an imitation is a great form of flattery, this is not what anyone wants. He said he is happy that the PGA Tour has been taking notice of the changes by LIV. And it has been trying to up its game.
He wrote that LIV created competition and challenged PGA’s ’54-year-old entrenched monopoly’.

According to Norman, the changes benefit both fans and the players, and he is utmost happy to see that PGA Tour is following them. Norman says that LIV Golf is the best development for professional golf and golfer’s career. And he is sure that the enhancements and more perks by PGA Tour only happened because of the LIV golf.
Greg Norman comments on the PGA Tour actions
Greg Norman talked about the PGA’s reaction when LIV Golf came into force. He said that the PGA Tour got threatened by LIV. He said, “When LIV came on the scene, the PGA chose sticks instead of carrots”.

He opined that because the league felt threatened, it started banning players who accepted the offers for LIV Tournaments. Despite that, Liv Golf assembled players with 21 wins out of the last 51 major tournaments.
The famous LIV golf players group includes six U.S. Opens and seven Masters Tournaments since 2010. Norman also said that LIV has one of the finest players. They are two recent No. 1 in the golf world, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson, and Cameron Smith, the current No. 2 player. LIV has significant players like Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, and Sergio Garcia.
