In the realm of professional golf, there is one thing that remains constant: the influence of the weather on events. With the conclusion of the first men’s major of the season, now, the Chevron Championship is set to begin in just a few hours, and the fans are left in anticipation as to what will be its fate. Will the year’s first women’s major, like the first round of the Masters, be disrupted because of the weather, or like the later rounds, will the event run smoothly?
April 18, 2024, marks the start of the Chevron Championship, which will continue until April 21, 2024. Quite opposite to the Masters, however, this week, Thursday is predicted to have moderate weather and cause little to no trouble. Friday, on the other hand… now that’s a different story!

For the second year in a row, The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas, will host the Chevron Championship. The likes of Lydia Ko, Nelly Korda and defending champion Lilia Vu will look to increase their major counts there this week, but the weather conditions in the Lone Star State certainly won’t make things easy!

The forecast predicts temperatures on Thursday to reach as high as 33 degrees and as low as 22 degrees. The wind will blow at a speed of 19 km/h with 65% humidity. The weather suggests that the sky will be partly cloudy, 32% to be precise, but fortunately, there are no chances of rainfall. The sun is to rise at 6:51 a.m. and set around 7:52 p.m., which will give enough time for the match to commence.
On Friday, the conditions are not as ideal as in Round 1, with a moderate chance of rain during the day. The temperature is predicted to go as high as 28 degrees and as low as 21 degrees, and the wind will blow at a speed of 11 km/h. The thickness of the rain will be 6.6 mm, and the humidity forecast says it will be 81% humid. Showers could potentially delay the rounds, given the scheduled sunrise at 6:50 a.m. and sunset at 7:52 p.m. However, we will undoubtedly have to wait and see what happens on the greens!

What will the weekend weather at the Chevron Championship look like?
After a 36-hole cut, only the top 65 players and ties will play the major’s weekend rounds this week. And while the competition is bound to be intense, things certainly aren’t going to be a cakewalk weatherwise either!
On Saturday, which is the penultimate round, there are chances of patchy rain nearby with a thickness of 1.0 mm, and the winds will be blowing at a speed of 15 km/h. The temperature is predicted to rise to 30 degrees and drop to 20 degrees. To add to the misery, there is a humidity prediction of a whopping 77%. The sunrise is scheduled for 6:49 a.m., and the sun will set at 7:53 p.m.

The temperature will range from 22 degrees to 16 degrees, the wind will be blowing at a speed of 18 km/h, and the humidity will be close to 81%. The sun is predicted to rise around 6:48 a.m. and set sometime around 7:54 p.m.
It certainly seems like the golfers will have to be on their toes adapting to the ever-changing (albeit slightly) weather this week! And perhaps whoever does it best will take home the win. Tune in to find out who that will be!
