Nelly Korda
The defending champion is the top seed at the Chevron Championship. The golfer who achieved the historic feat of four consecutive wins in 2024 before entering The Woodlands is expected to continue that in 2025. However, for this year, the story has been different. Nelly Korda started off the season with a runner-up finish, but since then has struggled to reach close to the title. With participation in four events, she had a mix of results. Now, it will be interesting to witness her performance in defending her title.
Jeeno Thitikul
The 22-year-old Thai professional is the highest-ranked golfer who is yet to claim her major victory. Jeeno Thitikul joined the LPGA Tour in 2022, and since then, she has managed to bag 4 victories, out of which two came last year. Interestingly, the golfer has shown consistency with her performance this year, keeping her in strong contention for the win. Out of the five participations this year, she has managed three top-5 and one top-10 finish.
Angel Yin
The two-time LPGA Tour winner was close to winning the Chevron Championship in 2023. However, the final playoff putt by Lilia Vu snatched away the victory. Last year, she struggled with a left ankle injury, resulting in a withdrawal. However, for this season, she is well prepared to change her runner-up finish to victory. In the 2025 schedule, she has already bagged a victory at the Honda LPGA Thailand. With the victory boosting her confidence, she will be all set to conquer The Woodlands.

Can Nelly Korda defend her title, or will a new champion emerge at the Chevron Championship?

Lilia Vu
The World No. 4 and 2023 Chevron Championship winner will have all the attention this season, too. After her two major wins in 2023 and climbing to the top of the world ranking, she suffered a back injury, which kept her away from the course till June 2024. However, now with a runner-up finish already, she will be aiming to continue the season similar to 2023, where she won LPGA Tour Player of the Year, Rolex Annika Major Award, and LPGA Tour Money Winner.

Lydia Ko
The Kiwi professional with 23 professional wins under her name, including three major championships, will be among the top contenders of the 2025 season too. Not just because of her past performance, but also due to her ongoing form. In the 2025 schedule, Lydia Ko has already clinched a victory at the HSBC Women’s World Championship. Notably, apart from victory, she has T6 and a 6th-place finish as well. With all eyes, can the 2016 Chevron Championship winner repeat history?
Lauren Coughlin
The world No. 11 suffered a heartbreak in her first appearance at the Chevron Championship in 2023 by missing the cut. But in 2024, she made a comeback with her performance as she finished tied third place. Even for this season, it seems she is all pumped as she recorded a T3 finish at the recent JM Eagle LA Championship. But can she improve her result any better? Well, we are yet to find out.
Charley Hull
The English professional golfer has been in the news for her habits, be it good or bad. But away from her habits, she has been doing a great job with her routine that includes workouts and long-distance running to add extra power to her participation. Indeed, that has been the case this season, the world No. 10 has been in the top 20 position, including T4 at the HSBC Women’s World Championship. With no major victory until now, Charley Hull will aim to change it and change the status of her best finish from runner-up in 2016 to the winner in 2025.
Minjee Lee
The Australian professional, having two major titles, would aim to take a step forward toward a career grand slam. Even with her T3 finish in 2017 at the Chevron Championship, Lee has been close to the victory. Notably, in the 2025 season, she has already shown consistent performance as she was runner-up at the Blue Bay LPGA and had two top-10 finishes.

A Lim Kim
In 2025, it seems the 2020 US Women’s Open winner is all prepped out to win another major. The three-time LPGA Tour title winner has already started off the 2025 schedule with a victory. Interestingly, she continued to maintain her form with two top-10 and two-20 finishes. Even with her earlier appearance in 2023 and 2024, she was in the top 10, gaining her full experience of the pressure and course conditions to change her best finish record this year.
Ingrid Lindblad
Along with the world’s top-ranked player, a rookie will also join the list of power rankings for this season. Why, you may ask? Ingrid Lindblad‘s exceptional amateur career, along with her victory at her third appearance as a professional, is the reason. The former World No. 1 amateur has done an exceptional job with her performance at the JM Eagle LA Championship by winning by a stroke. The victory at the third appearance as a professional has laid a strong foundation of expectations for fans and even analysts.
