Do you remember the time when Tiger Woods caddied for Charlie Woods? Now that the young lad is making her USGA debut, you would think that Tiger Woods would be there to help him navigate the troubling greens of Oakland Hills. But no! However he will surely be there to support him, but from outside of the ropes. The reason for the same lies in the rules.

According to the USGA rules, “A player must not use a parent, step-parent, or guardian as a caddie during qualifying or the Championship proper.” This rule is the reason Woods can only support his son from the outside. Now that 82x PGA Tour winner as his son’s bagman is out of the question, who is his looper after all? We will give you a hint. You have seen the duo on the course before!

Charlie’s friend and teammate from Benjamin School, Luke Wise, is his bagman for the big debut in Michigan. The duo has some experience of being a team on the greens, as Wise was also on Charlie’s bag duty at the PNC Championship in December 2023.

The PGA Tour shared a video of the 15-time major champ talking to Luke in the tee box. He was hyping up the young lad, and in his perfect candid sense, he dubbed him “Big Dog” and said, “Let’s go to work.” Wise has been dating Gianna Demereski for the last two years. A week ago, he posted a beautiful picture of himself holding her in his arms and wrote, “Happy 2 Years! I’m so thankful to have you in my life. I love you, G❤️”

Other than spending time with her beau, he is also a talented amateur golfer who has been doing well on the greens.

Charlie’s caddie for the U.S. Junior Amateur is a golfer

The 18-year-old from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has been passionate about golf since he started playing when he was in eighth grade. He previously played hockey and baseball, but the game of golf stuck with him. With the support of his family, he began taking lessons and practicing every day, which led his family to move to Florida for year-round golfing. How amazing is that?

Luke’s career took off when he started playing for the South Florida PGA Junior Tour, and he has played in several tournaments ever since. His last three performances included Medalist Tour, Admiral’s Cove, and Village, where he scored 23 over par and secured the spot of T42. The next tournament, the South Florida Jr. PGA Championship, saw the golfer make a score of 12 over par and rest among Jack Nicoletta and Mason Tome at T30. The latest score of Luke’s 2024 season records a 9 over par, which helped him secure the T11 position at the Callaway Medalist Tour held at Hobe Sound Golf Club.

Besides golf, Luke caddies at the Bears Club and has volunteered at the Honda Classic. He has also participated in the Cody’s Angels Golf Tournament for the past three years, raising money for pediatric cancer. The 18-year-old is doing quite amazing work at such a young age. And the whole world has yet to see him do wonders with his caddying skills at the 2024 U.S. Junior Amateur. Do you think Luke’s caddying will help Charlie win this trophy?
