“I made an ace. I don’t think I can top that,” were Charlie Woods’s words after losing the 2024 PNC Championship to Team Langer. But surely, the expectations for him to make an amazing comeback are still there, and well, the moment everyone has been waiting for is finally here! The 10th Annual Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship is almost here. From Feb 28 – Mar 2, 2025, the best young golfers will take on TPC Myrtle Beach—a course that does not play nice. It’s the ultimate test, and these rising stars are ready to show out. Who’s taking the win?
Five of America’s top 10-ranked junior golfers, including Tyler Watts, Mason Howell, and Asher Vargas, will be competing for the trophy. Watts, sitting at No. 5, is back and hungry to top last year’s T-3 finish. Meanwhile, Howell and Vargas are pulling up ready to make a statement. But one name that’s sure to draw a lot of attention is Charlie Woods, the 15-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods.
Charlie Woods is already making a name for himself in the junior golf circuit with his impressive skills and composure on the course. He teamed up with his dad, for a runner-up finish at the 2024 PNC Championship – where he scored a hole-in-one at the par-3 fourth hole!

What did TPC Myrtle Beach say about Charlie Woods’s involvement?
While many of the players competing in the 2025 Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship may not be household names, there’s one notable exception: Charlie Woods. According to TPC Myrtle Beach, Charlie’s swing is reminiscent of his father’s, which made him one of the game’s all-time greats. “While Woods doesn’t have the resume of his contemporaries, the sophomore has a swing reminiscent of the one that made his father one of the game’s all-time greats, and he is ascending,” TPC Myrtle Beach said in a news release.
The 10th annual tournament will feature 90 male and female players between the ages of 13 and 18. Three past champions have already gone on to win on the PGA and LPGA tours. The tournament is made possible through the support of Dustin Johnson, a Columbia, South Carolina native who has donated over $500,000 to junior golf through his foundation. “Through the Dustin Johnson Foundation, which is headquartered in Myrtle Beach, Johnson has donated more than $500,000 to junior golf, sponsoring numerous events throughout the state and helping cover entry costs for kids who need financial assistance.” Who do you think will come out on top?
