Charlie Woods vs. Miles Russell: Who's the next big thing in golf, and why?

Charlie Woods knows a thing or two about living up to expectations. As Tiger Woods‘s son, he’s constantly reminded of his dad’s golf legacy. But Charlie’s refusing to let that weight hold him back and with every swing, he’s forging his own path and proving he’s more than just a famous last name. That was on full display at the District 13-1A championship when Charlie led his team to victory and at the Class 1A Region 4 Tournament where he fought back from early setbacks to finish at par.

His parents, Woods and Elin, were there to cheer him on, beaming with pride. Charlie’s story isn’t just about golf,  it’s about self-discovery while making sure people know that he is Charlie Woods and not just the son of a golf legend.  Also, how can we forget the black clouds on Charlie’s PNC Championship plans as his dad is currently resting and recovering from his microdiscectomy? So, as he heads to the State Championship, everyone is rooting for this young golfer to silence the doubters and make his own mark on the game.

However, it seems like his rivals are also not a step behind in making their own name. The latest post by AJGA on Instagram revealed something that has the fans’ excitement over the moon. The 2023 Boys Rolex Junior Player of the Year and golf prodigy Miles Russell is set to make his second PGA Tour appearance at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, thanks to an exemption earned through his prestigious junior title. “Miles Russell will make his second @PGATOUR start this week at the @ButterfieldBDAChamp, an exemption he earned as the 2023 Boys @ROLEX Junior Player of the Year”, read the caption.

But you’ll surprised to know that this isn’t the first PGA Tour game that Russell will be playing in.
