Charley Hull's fashion over safety—bold move or reckless behavior? What's your take?

It has been more than two years since Charley Hull won her last title on the LPGA Tour. The 28-year-old pro had suffered various injuries amidst many things that had kept her form a little distorted. But that does not mean, the Kettering native does not know how to have fun outside the course. Hull has not let the constant failures on the greens prevent her from enjoying time with friends and living life to the fullest.

Hull has been struggling to put up a good score in the fourth women’s major, as her shoulder injury from last week might have disrupted her trending form. The 28-year-old was T109 after the first round, as she was 8 over. However, after playing 13 holes in the second round, as inclement weather suspended the round, Hull rose to T92, shooting four over. The two rounds have not been remarkable for Hull, and even though the Evian Championship has not been moving in her favor, Hull would not leave France without making some unforgettable memories.

The LPGA star posted a carousel on Instagram about all the things she did with her friends, Georgia Hall, Kathryn Newton, and Vicky Cumming, after landing in Evian Les Brain. She captioned it, “From ice baths to matching scrunchies and hot chocolates with my favorite people,” Hull’s adventures in France have been fascinating.

Despite the threat of missing the projected even-par cutline looming over, Hull has kept her fun times away from the struggles she has been having on the course. And the Hull fans love her energy for it as she plays the Amundi Evian Championship.

Netizens react as Charley Hull enjoys time in France

At the Amundi Evian Championship, Hull made 10 bogeys and one double bogey in the first round and two bogeys in the second to have an over-par score. However, after draining six birdies in the second round, the Kettering native improved her score from 8 to 4 over and crept a little close to making the even-par cutline.

To secure her place in the weekend of Evian Championship, Hull would need four more birdies. Thus, this fan applauded her for a better second round, saying, “Well played today Charles, you need 4 more birdies when you finish your second round tomorrow to make the cut, you can do it!” If Hull fails to make four more birdies, the 28-year-old will miss her first cut of the 2024 season. At this moment, the English pro needs all the cheers and motivation from her fans to make it out of the cutline and chart the leaderboard too for her maiden major win. This fan delivered exactly that and said, “Hope you finish up in the morning with all birdies!!!”

Last week, Hull revealed that she had fallen abruptly and encountered a shoulder injury because of the “nasty fall”. The LPGA star had to withdraw from the Aramco Team Series in London because of the same injury and it might be the reason behind Hull’s dropped form. That’s why this user wished her the best and said, “Hope your shoulder heals quickly and you get back to the red hot form you were in before injuring it…xo.”

Despite being sponsored by the same golf apparel brand, Jason Day and Charley Hull have received contrasting reactions from fans for wearing Malbon Golf. On one hand, Day got ridiculed for his fashion choice. On the other hand, Hull received the utmost praise and appreciation from the golf world as she donned the Malbon Golf attire. This time too, Hull’s still from Champions Course at the Evian Resort GC, was loved by this fan as they hoped she would win the major. They admiringly said, “Last photo is my fav .. it just screams class, golfs fashion icon, and massive points on my overall pic. Winning!!!”

The 2-time LPGA Tour winner has revealed that because of her ADHD, she feels restless and her focus gets distorted from the end goal. During those times, it was the fans’ love and support that kept her going. This comment is one of a kind, as the fan motivating the English pro said, “You are the best .. keep doing it lady x.”

There are still five more holes remaining for Hull’s second round to conclude, which will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. Will the 2-time LPGA Tour winner be able to capitalize and make the cut? It remains to be seen.
