Charley Hull is known for her tough-as-nails mindset, and she recently reiterated her philosophy, saying, “Pain is a weakness of the mind”—a phrase we’ve heard from her more than one time. Take the Solheim Cup, for example. When Hull was asked about her approach to dealing with injuries, her response was pure grit. “At the end of the day, I think pain is a weakness of the mind, so you just got to hit through it,” said Hull referring to the stomach pains, cramps, and body aches she endured throughout the event. But what’s even more impressive is that Hull pushed through more than just the temporary pains.

She later revealed she’d been suffering from degenerative arthritis in her shoulder, which she got to know after an unfortunate shower fall. Hull also suffers from asthma and was diagnosed with ADHD in 2023. And no doubt, it’s been visible that her lingering injuries have taken a toll on her performance. The 2X LPGA winner’s last victory was in 2022 at the Volunteers of America, where she edged out Xiyu Lin by one stroke (-18). And if we talk about her latest year, Charley Hull’s 2024 performances were a mixed bag, with a winless streak on the LPGA Tour.

However, she still managed to compete in 17 events, making 15 cuts, and snagging a Top 10 position five times. She also ended her winless drought by snagging the Aramco Team Series final individual title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. But, as the saying goes, “When one door closes, another opens.” And it looks like Hull is gearing up for a strong comeback this season.

It was more evident when Charley Hull dropped a new post on her official social media handles. On Monday evening, she shared a glimpse into her intense workout routine on Instagram. Hull was spotted pushing herself with the sled push, a top choice for boosting full-body strength, power, and speed. Another photo showed her burning calories on a treadmill.

But along with the images, what caught followers’ attention, though, was the caption, which showcased her military mentality. Hull wrote, “It’s being comfortable with being uncomfortable, as my dad has always told me pain is a weakness of the mind.” A perfect mindset to kick off the 2025 LPGA season, which tees off on January 30 at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club. As Hull posted her sizzling, sweaty pictures, fans bombarded the comment section with their opinions within seconds.

Charley Hull’s high-intensity training sparks fear among her fans

One concerned fan wrote, “Don’t injure yourself! You’re a golfer, not a football running back! Tibial stress fx or Achilles injuries take a long time to heal,” referring to her treadmill running picture. Hull, like Lexi Thompson, loves spending time in the gym. She has said in the past that it helps her feeling more calm.

On a more positive note, another fan chimed in, “Good luck with the new season, looking gorgeous as always!” Charley Hull is expected to return in the $2M Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, where she’s participated for two consecutive years. Honestly, given her impressive performance in 2023, fans are eagerly waiting to see her back in action.

There was another social media user who couldn’t help but praise Hull’s physique, saying, “Wow, the last pic and your muscle are amazing!! Keep on working it, as it is so making a difference and defining your game!” He referred to a picture where Hull was snapped using a bicep curl tricep extension machine.

However, not all fans were impressed. One commented, Just think how many more you could do if you didn’t smoke,” referring to Hull’s smoking habits. In a September 2024 interview, Hull revealed that she smokes five cigarettes per round. This habit also garnered attention at the Women’s US Open, where she was seen smoking while signing autographs.
