Charles Barkley is a former basketball legend who has played for three teams in sixteen seasons in the NBA. Barkley is also a television analyst on TNT, but his fans highly doubt his presence on the show in the near future. It was after Barkley announced that he would play in the next LIV event after dining with Greg Norman.

He also made a few interesting statements about golf and the LIV Series in earlier interviews.

Charles Barkley gives his opinion on the LIV Series.

Barkley recently had a meeting with the LIV chief, Greg Norman, where he originally went intending to join LIV as a broadcaster. However, after he returned, he announced that he would be playing in the next event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series. Norman’s fans are disappointed and confused after his announcement, wondering if he would still broadcast.

However, it was not so surprising as he had given clear green flags to the LIV series. In an episode of “The Pat McAfee Show”, Barkley said, “Listen, if someone gave me $200 million, I’d kill a relative.” It looks like the news of Barkley’s interest in the series reached Greg Norman’s ears in no time.

He said to The Post“We have all taken ‘blood money’ and we all have ‘sportswashed’ something, so I don’t like those words, to be honest with you. If you are in pro sports, you are taking some type of money from not a great cause.”. The statement was made in reference to LIV’s sponsors, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which has a history of human rights violations.

Barkley’s existing contract with Turner Sports

Barkley is currently under a three-year contract with Turner Sports for $30 million. However, the legend said that he would love to do both LIV and the former. “In a perfect scenario, I would love to do both,” he said.

Barkley mentioned that his sponsors contacted him after he met with the LIV chief. But he made his intentions clear through his statements. “Between [my Turner contract] and all my commercials, for me to risk all of that, it would have to be some serious money thrown my way,” he said.

Charles Barkley will probably play in the pro-am of LIV’s next event. But it is not certain if he will be able to broadcast on TNT anymore after that. His fans want him to continue what he was doing, but this might be a career-changing decision for the man.
