“What would you say to your 30-year-old self… like however many years ago?” asked Erik Anders Lang to fellow golf cart rider Paige Spiranac. The two were spotted on the Pete Dye Course at French Lick ahead of the Good Good Midwest Open that took place on June 18. And the response to the question? Well, the 31-year-old shone some light on her past, confessing her people-pleasing side!

The duo was collaborating in their newest episode, titled ‘Going Low with Paige Spiranac’, on Lang’s YouTube channel, Random Golf Club, when she was posed with the query. “I mean I’ve changed so much since the last time we talked,” responded Spiranac as she alluded to the podcast that she did with the content creator on the Erik Anders Lang Show. The diva elaborated as she divulged, “I was still in the mentality of trying to like please everyone and I wanted to be taken like ‘seriously’.”

The model then disclosed how she came to find her true self. “I just realized that you know, that wasn’t who I am and that’s not what I want my brand to be,” continued the athlete. “So, I’ve just kind of morphed into almost like this persona, this kind of character that I’ve played, this Paige Renee and I’ve really had a lot of fun with it!”

She clearly enjoyed juggling the world of golf, social media stardom, and Sports Illustrated modeling, creating a powerful brand of her own. Spiranac, consequently, boasts 1 million followers on her X handle, and as much as a whopping 4 million on her Instagram handle. She did so by dishing out content related to the sport along with her modeling side (remember the recent photoshoot as well as her 2024 calendar?).

This wasn’t the first time Paige Spiranac had opened up about her struggles with people-pleasing tendencies. The golfer had, back in 2023, discussed the same on her YouTube channel. She even pointed out how seeking such validation from the online community eventually leads to a toxic situation for the creator, that is herself: “I think that I don’t put out the best content that I possibly can because I’m so worried sometimes about what people are going to think.” And realizing this has made all the difference!

Paige Spiranac’s change in mentality

The Spiranac of now stands in stark contrast to how she was earlier. She even expressed once how she was never going to change just because her followers didn’t like her content. “I always lean into that more sexed-up extroverted version of myself to create good content,” said the American model before adding, “Some people just don’t like that at all. Well, then don’t follow me if you don’t agree with it.”

Although she was stereotyped at the beginning of her influencing career, all thanks to her controversial take on traditional golf and the bold attire she sports. The fans surely can’t help but respect Spiranac for moving forward despite receiving much hate and harsh criticism!
