The Castle Pines Golf Club welcomed the top 50 players to its lofty course for the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The American circuit returned to the Colorado greens after 2006 with the BMW Championship. Numerous things set the Jack Vickers creation apart from other golf courses, whether it be its 6,200-foot altitude or the challenging designs of the different holes.
But it’s not just a design marvel. The experience and services at the Denver-based golf club are top-notch. Lisa Walker-Straten, who’s been crafting delicious milkshakes at the halfway house for 13 years, surely brings a lot of golfers to their yards!
When interviewed by 9 News, she said, “I mean people come here and golf and the whole time they’re golfing they’re like I can’t wait to get my milkshake.” She takes pride in making a good milkshake and aims to stir up childhood memories and provide people with something to look forward to, which undoubtedly enhances the cold, frothy and creamy drink.

The milkshake presents a conundrum for golfers. On the one hand, it’s incredibly tasty but on the other, there are a lot of calories to consume at such a high altitude. The aforementioned Jason Day said, “I remember, we’re playing at altitude, and having a milkshake there and I almost felt like I was going to die because they were so thick. And they were so good you couldn’t stop drinking them.”
The once World No. 1 David Duval has also heaped praise on it saying, “They are just spectacular. If I am ever out there in a match, I make sure the person I am playing against gets a milkshake at the turn, and I guarantee I am winning holes 10, 11 and 12 because they have enjoyed the shake too much.”
