Pro golfer Rory McIlroy reached his number one position after winning the CJ Cup. The female golf world was not untouched by it, and the LPGA sensation Nelly Korda got her number position again after winning Pelican Women’s Championship. Post her best win, she burst into tears talking about her tough year. Last year, Korda won the championship, and this year she was able to defend her title by carding 6-under 64 and defeating Lexi Thompson.

She couldn’t contain her happiness, and her overwhelmed condition led her to burst into tears during the interview. But after a roller coaster year, the Olympic gold medalist regained her no. 1 position in the Rolex world golf ranking. The fans could not hold themselves back and swamped the comment section with heartfelt messages.
Did fans support Nelly Korda reaching number one?
Fans were happy with the win of Korda, and the comments were the proof. All the fans congratulated her with all their hearts, and according to them, Korda deserved the win. She worked hard the whole year after missing two cuts. Her head was high and frequent practice for months led her to defend the championship.
LPGA posted her picture saying she returned to number 1, like never leaving. It was indeed a glorious moment for all her fans. However, a few people thought that claiming the number one position was not suitable, as the LPGA member did not win any major titles this year. They did not find it justifying to reach number one just after one event victory.

However, fans were supporting their favorite golfer, and they proved why Korda deserved to be number one. Because the ranking is cumulative of two years, and the female pro golfer had 2022 rough but not 2021. This year was challenging because of the blood clot in her arm, but she is back again now. Let’s see what fans had to say about her win.
Great golfer and wonderful representative of the game! I think this is the start of bigger and better things for her.

I will say this again and again I think that is hilarious that employer claims number one when they absolutely did not win a major this entire year these rankings are a joke

The rankings are over a rolling two-year period, and during that time Nelly has won five LPGA events, including a major, an LET event, and an Olympic Gold Medal, although it isn’t factored into the Rolex World Rankings. No woman has been more successful over the last 104 weeks.

Therefore, fans backed the golfer’s number 1 status.
