The world will witness the LPGA and PGA Tour cross-over once again! And this time, the golfers will tee off together at The Park in West Palm Beach, Florida for Capital One’s The Match. Over the years, the event has witnessed some spectacular golfing moments, whether it be the battle between the two golf icons Woods or Mickelson or the DeChambeau and Koepka’s Feud.
Once again, The Match will be creating history as their ninth edition will be the first mixed-gender rendition of the event, with Rory McIlroy, Max Homa, Rose Zhang, and Lexi Thompson taking over the greens. The Match has been a fan favorite for various reasons, having a star-studded field that included NFL stars like Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes or be it legendary 76er Charles Barkley. But most importantly, stars from all around the world choose to come together at the golfing event to raise and donate money for charitable causes. In the upcoming edition, the golfers will strive to do the same.
This year, the event will follow a unique ’12-hole skins’ format and each hole will be assigned a certain amount of money. The golfers will compete with one another to raise funds and the one that raises the most amount of money will take the title home. It’s not the hefty prize purse but the philanthropic spirit that makes “The Match” stand out in the game of golf.
The event will not only have an impressive lineup on the golfing greens, but some famous names will be present on the commentators’ box as well, which will include the likes of Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson, and Trevor Immelman, along with on-course reporter Kathryn Tappen and special contributors DJ Khaled and Paul Bissonnette.
