Woods made his tour debut as a lanky 16-year-old in the 1992 Nissan Los Angeles Open at Riviera Country Club. He was yet to turn pro and was still a sophomore in high school. Having made the rounds at junior levels, Woods was given a sponsor’s exemption to enter the competition.

While he missed the cut in that tournament, Woods was prepared when he eventually made his professional debut. As a 20-year-old, he participated in the 1996 Greater Milwaukee Open, where he finished a respectable 60th. His debut was keenly anticipated, with his performance catching the eye.

Months after making his pro debut, Woods won his first major championship, the 1997 Masters Tournament. As the world realized later, it was the start of something incredible.

Woods went on to secure 15 major championships in his distinguished career, the last of which arrived in the sport’s most memorable comeback story, the 2019 Masters.

As usual, the legend’s birthday incited wild celebrations among fans and enthusiasts all over the world. Netizens poured their love on their idol, wishing him success in the future.
