A few hours earlier, Tiger Woods’s new look for the first three days of the U.S. Open was revealed. The three new polos were to debut at Pinehurst No. 2, and just in time, Woods has donned the first look. The 15-time major winner has started the chase for the 16th stripe; however, the attention of the fans is on his SDR attire. Previously, Sun Day Red has been heavily criticized by the golf community.

From the get-go, the brand’s logo was an eyesore for many. Then at the Masters, fans did not like the similar-colored polo and sweater and called it “ugly.” Then, at the PGA Championship, the sweat malfunction of SDR was called out, even though the brand was on the expensive side. For the first round at Pinehurst, Woods wore a pink striped polo with the Sun Day Red logo on the front, similar to the Masters fit. TW Legion, a fan community of Woods, shared a glimpse of the golfer before starting his opening round at Pinehurst in the pink t-shirt.

For the next two days, Friday and Saturday, the 48-year-old will be wearing two different shades of navy blue, taking back to his old days when Woods would wear solid colors. Regardless, as soon as the look made it to social media, reactions from the fans started coming in, and fans were not as disappointed.

The golf world gives mixed reactions to Tiger Woods’s pink SDR fit

Looking at Woods in the pink shade, one fan shared their delight and said, “Loving it.” Notably, the 48-year-old wore pink during the final round of the 1994 U.S. Amateur, the first of the three times he won the event. However, not all are in agreement with the look. For this user, it reminded them of a dessert, and that too a pink one! They sarcastically remarked, “Candy floss fit goes hard.” Notably, this takes it back to how people reacted to Woods’s brand right after its debut and criticized it for its simple designs and for dividing the name Sun from Day.

On the other hand, Woods started the U.S. Open with great momentum as he had his son, Charlie Woods for swing coaching and was also awarded the Bob Jones Award, in the presence of his mother Kutilda, and daughter Sam Woods. Now, with this new look, everything seems to be going well for the veteran pro. This fan noting everything said, “Strong start” for the 48-year-old so far.

Another user chimed in and reciprocated what most have already said. They not only complimented his pink attire but cheerfully said, “The pink and grey pops. Go iggy go.” While this golf enthusiast was not at all a fan of Woods’s choice of fit for the opening round. They had one-word feedback for it, which was “stupid.” People have called out Sun Day Red for being expensive in the past. This fan might have related it to that for such strong emotion against the fit.
