The SoFi Cup standings are heating up, and with just four matches left in the regular season, the playoff picture is nearly set. It’s crunch time for teams hoping to make the postseason, especially after a thrilling Monday doubleheader saw three teams secure their spots. In the first match, Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau, and Sahith Theegala led Los Angeles Golf Club to an incredible comeback win over New York Golf Club, punching their ticket to the playoffs.
The loss for New York also confirmed that The Bay has clinched a spot, with two matches remaining, including Tuesday’s highly anticipated showdown against Jupiter Links Golf Club. Later in the day, Atlanta Drive dominated Boston Common Golf, improving to 3-1 and sealing their playoff berth. Now, with the top four teams in the SoFi Cup standings earning a playoff spot, the final spot comes down to New York, Jupiter, and Boston. So, how can Jupiter Links still make the playoffs?
Right now, Tiger Woods’s team sits in fifth place with two points, but a win over The Bay on Tuesday would be a game-changer. It would put them in fourth with four points, setting them up strong for the final week. I’d give them the edge over New York and Boston, setting up a thrilling final match for both teams. The thing is, New York, sitting fourth with three points, can still make the playoffs but must beat Boston (March 3).

If The Bay beats Jupiter on Tuesday, New York’s playoff shot looks way better—they have got to handle Boston to seal the deal. Meanwhile, Boston’s hanging by a thread with one point. They need a win over New York and a whole lot of help from the other teams to even have a chance.

Looking ahead, if there is a tie-in point, the number of holes won throughout the season will serve as the tiebreaker. Right now, New York has won 15 holes, Boston has 11, and Jupiter has six. Jupiter’s chances are still alive, but they’ll need to seize this opportunity to make it to the postseason and shake up the standings. Adding to this tension will be another factor. The absence of the leader.
Tiger Woods will be benched for the upcoming match
As tensions heat up, Tiger Woods’s Jupiter Links team is fighting to stay in the playoff race. After a tough 10-3 loss to New York, Woods, who recently attended a Black History Month reception at the White House, will be benched for the upcoming match against The Bay Golf Club on February 25. In his absence, Tom Kim, Max Homa, and Kevin Kisner will represent Jupiter Links. They’ll need to rally together to keep their postseason hopes alive.

While the exact reason hasn’t been officially stated, Tiger Woods may be still grappling with the recent loss of his mother, Kultida Woods, who passed away on February 4 at the age of 80. In a heartfelt tribute, he shared on social media, “She was quick with the needle and a laugh.” He had initially planned to play in the Genesis Invitational in San Diego this week but ultimately made the difficult decision to withdraw on Monday, putting family first during this challenging time.
Tiger Woods shared his emotions with his followers on X, writing, “I planned to tee it up this week, but I’m just not ready.” The loss of his mother has clearly put the golfer on a healing journey. It’s likely this emotional weight led him to step back from being with his team during a crucial period. Do you think the team will be able to make it to the Playoffs without him? Stay tuned to find out!
