The rivalry between the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf has taken a new turn after new revelations by Phil Mickelson. The unexpected decision by Phil Mickelson and the shocking results
Since former PGA Tour members Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, and other golfers joined LIV Golf, PGA Tour suspended them from playing any tour event. As a result, eleven ex-PGA Tour professional golfers filed an antitrust lawsuit against the PGA Tour in August.

However, now there is a new development in the rivalry. After Carlos Ortiz, the three times Masters title winner Mickelson also dropped out of the lawsuit. According to Mickelson, the players’ rights are protected by LIV Golf, so he did not need to be involved in the case. He said, “With LIV’s involvement in these issues, the players’ rights will be protected, and I no longer feel it is necessary for me to be part of the proceedings.”
Phil Mickelson has decided to take his name out of the lawsuit against the PGA Tour.
This could make it harder for the court to compel certain information and documents from Phil.

Even though he dropped out of the lawsuit, the PGA tour event winner will not be allowed back on tour. They suspend him as he is still a member of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf. Because according to the PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, allowing the LIV Golf members back on the PGA Tour will compromise the TOUR and the competition.

The Saudi-backed LIV Golf had its first event in June at London’s Centurion Club. To no one’s surprise, The PGA Tour stood firm on its disdain decision but responded unexpectedly. It suspended anyone opting to join LIV, including Mickelson.
He was a lifetime member of the tour because of his achievements. But commissioner Jay Monahan suspended him in March for two months. This was because he was recruiting the PGA Tour players to compete in LIV Golf events and was denied reinstatement.
