The PNC Championship is the heralded family event of the PGA Tour. The 36-hole no-cut team event witnesses the coming together of 20 professional golfers with their family members or, specifically, a pairing up of parents and children.
The event started in 1995 and was previously known as the Father/Son Challenge. However, as the game evolved, the pairing was changed to son/father, grandfather/grandchildren, daughter/father, mother/children, and many more. The event is now renamed the PNC Championship to celebrate all of its participants. However, the siblings’ pair has never been part of the event, but as it has added new pairs through years of running, the chances of Nelly Korda playing with her sister, Jessica Korda, are there but still low.
Even if the newest pair of siblings gets added to the field, there is another rule that a pair has to follow for the qualification for the event. A pair must be the PLAYERS winner or a major champ, and the second player should not be professionally playing on any Tours. With the Korda Sisters, it will only be possible if one of them takes a break from their pro career.
The event is ever-evolving, so seeing a sibling pair would not be surprising. However, the Korda sisters would never retire, just to play at the PNC Championship. Until in the far future when one does, then there will be chances of seeing Nelly Korda and Jessica Korda play at the PNC championship. Until then, another pair from the Korda family is gracing the Ritz-Carlton GC and has finished their first round.
