Did Wyndham Clark cross the line with his eleven-word insult to Byeong-Hun An?

Si Woo Kim was inspired by Steph Curry’s “night-night” celebration after holing an unlikely pitch shot that sparked some war of words on the Presidents Cup field. Witnessing that, Byeong-Hun An stepped in when PGA Tour posted a video of Wyndham Clark mimicking the celebration and said “You always have a guy in your group who doesn’t do s–t but talk s–t all day,” with a laughing emoji in defense of his teammate at the Presidents Cup. However, Wyndham Clark is now clapping back!

Recently Golf.com shared a post on Instagram captioned “Emotions were high following Saturday’s matches at the Presidents Cup.” In the post, they highlighted Hun An’s post where he insulted him. However, in the same post, Clark commented with a mere 11 words, but enough to make an impact, “Then there is the guy who didn’t have a tee time,” as Hun An didn’t play on Saturday in the morning fourballs and afternoon foursomes.

Although Hun An had already apologized and later deleted his post saying “I’m deleting my tweet. My apologies. I want to be a better person than that.” Clark certainly didn’t hold back with his response. Witnessing the drama, one American had also commented “Or at least a better golfer than that. I can’t really say a player hasn’t done shit when you’ve literally never won a PGA Tour event.” Hun An is yet to claim a victory on the PGA Tour, on the other hand, Clark already has a 2023 US Open win, a 2023 Wells Fargo Championship and a 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach win to his name.

Hun An replied to a fan, “I’d like to be a better person than a better golfer. I bet your mom thinks the same way.” He hasn’t said anything about Clark’s comment, how do you think Hun An would react to this response? As the intense golf and verbal exchanges continue to dominate the Presidents Cup, this is not the only controversial incident to occur during the tournament.

Tom Kim accused Team USA players of “cursing at them”

It happened on Saturday when Kim and teammate Si Woo Kim were matched against Patrick Cantlay and  Xander Schauffele. The American duo managed to beat both Korean golfers. Following that, Tom Kim accused some US players of “cursing at them”  and also said that  it wasn’t “good sportsmanship.” Witnessing Kim’s thoughts, Schauffele also had something to say as he talked about it later in the Press conference.

Have an interesting take?

“I mean, I can speak for myself. I felt like Pat and I treated the Kims with the utmost respect, we were trying to quiet the crowds doing when they were hitting. Just go back on film…it was fair take, give and go.” While talking about it the 2x major champion further added “I have no clue if anyone was doing any of that.” However, he was also certain that Kim might have overheard and said “I don’t believe any of our guys would do something like that. So I’m not sure what he was hearing.”
