The one-time major winner, Jim Furyk, had last made an appearance in the Ally Challenge, which took place at the Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club. His performance was quite mediocre in the tournament, which landed him in a position of T51 at the end of the game.
While the PGA Tour golfer is now going through a phase of professional drought, he had his share of wins during his era of dominance. The most notable event on that list is undoubtedly the 2003 US Open.
During that win, there was a major support system that assisted the 17-time PGA Tour winner by staying in his bag. And the person was Mike Cowan, aka, Fluff.

Fluff had been caddying for Furyk since he stopped serving Tiger Woods’ as his bagman. Even in the Ally Challenge, he had been seen as the bagman of the PGA Tour pro. Hence, amid the tournament, the 53-year-old made a confession about his relationship with his caddie. A post from the official Instagram page of the PGA Tour Champions shed light on their friendship.

Jim stated in that post, “He just does a really good job of fitting kind of two roles as being a good friend and then also being a good caddie. I think Mike’s got to play the course as I would, right? He’s got to play the golf course, as he was in my skin. And so he’s caddied for me long enough. Now, he knows my yardages better than he knows his own.” Furyk’s words reflect the fact that Mike is not only a good bagman but a fitting mate as well.

Why did Tiger Woods part ways with his caddie, Fluff?
Tiger Woods has had a significant impact on the PGA Tour ever since his arrival. In the early days of his career, the legendary golfer had been caddied by a droopy, mustached caddie named Mike Cowan. This man had also been with the GOAT during his 1997 Masters tournament win.
Tiger won several PGA Tour titles with Cowan, but the duo still parted ways in 1997. While no relevant reason has been found out till today, one of the allegations his bagman carried was that he disclosed confidential details about a financial agreement. Following their separation, Tiger moved to Steve Williams to begin another glorious partnership, which ‘Fluff’ has stuck with Furyk ever since.
