After the Individual Championship concludes every year, LIV Golfers who finish outside the top 48 are left in the Drop Zone. This means they will be relegated from the league for the next season. Until last year, no matter how badly they performed, captains were exempt from this relegation. However, that has changed this season. LIV Golf has confirmed that captains are not exempt from relegation. This puts Bubba Watson in danger.
Initially, it was believed that Watson, would be exempt from relegation due to his captaincy role with RangeGoats GC, but LIV confirmed later in the season that even captains are not in the ‘safe zone’. The RangeGoats Captain is currently ranked 53 and has only been able to acquire 3.66 points for the entire season. But what led to such a terrible fate for him? Bubba Watson participated in all twelve events before the Individual and Team Championships. However, he failed to make it to the top 10 in any one of them. His best finish was at the LIV Golf Las Vegas, where he bagged a T15 finish, scoring 5-under and was a whopping seven strokes behind Dustin Johnson, who grabbed the win.

He then went on to end the season with Chicago, where he tied for 42.
