Physical fitness is crucial for success in any sport in the world. Among the golf professionals, Phil Mickelson is probably the fittest golfer at 50. However, Bubba Watson begs to differ. A few years back, he made a comment about the six-time major championship winner.

Back in 2019 on the Dan Patrick Show, Bubba was asked about who has got the worst body on the Tour. Surprisingly, the two-time green jacket winner gave Phil’s name in his reply and even gave a funny reason why he had taken his name.

Watson said, “Worst body on tour. Gosh, well, the one that stands out is Phil Mickelson. Gosh, I don’t know. I’m just gonna say, Phil Mickelson.”

“He just put out a video and made fun of my arms and my calves. Oh, okay. We’re gonna dig at him. He’s not here to protect himself though.”

Moreover, Sean says that typically Phil’s workout sessional usually ranges from 60-90 minutes, and he does a variety of exercises to keep himself physically fit. As a result, this proves how much Phil wants to stay fit and have a good physique. However, Bubba Watson, a fellow American professional, rather call out Mickelson’s name as he made fun of his arms and calves, can he be blamed?

Who is the oldest major championship winner?

The lefty made history at the 2021 PGA Championship by becoming the oldest major championship winner in golf. Moreover, Mickelson broke the record of Julius Boros, who won the 1968 PGA Championship to set the record at the age of 48. However, Phil broke the record as he won at 50. He won the event with an overall score of six-under-par. As a result, Phil won the event with a comfortable one-shot cushion after the final round on Sunday. 

Furthermore, Mickelson carded a final round of one-over-par, 73 at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. His final round of 73 included three birdies and three bogeys on the opening nine holes. In turn, he moved out in level-par, 36. Mickelson made two birdies and three bogeys on the back nine and made the turn in 0ne-over-par, 37. Moreover, his win at the PGA Championship in 2021 was his sixth major championship triumph.
