Everyone from athletes to actors are often known to pick up golf as a hobby. But eventually, more often than not, it turns into a favorite part of their schedule. Having said that, BTS’ Kim Taehyung (or V) is the latest on the list of celebrities to take up golf.

The singer took to Instagram to share a video of himself practicing with a 7-iron, capturing everyone’s attention. Later on, he interacted with fans online, revealing that he has only started playing a few weeks ago. With BTS’ second-oldest member, Min Yoongi, (or Suga) already known to play golf, Armys remain excited over what else V can do.

Kim Taehyung shares golf swing, other details with fans

In a now-deleted video on Instagram, Taehyung showed off his golf swing to his following of over 34 million. This was a second surprise from the Christmas Tree singer, as he had shared a clip of himself practicing judo hours earlier. “Iron7 3 week (old) golf kid/rookie,” he wrote, indicating that he has been learning for some time now, and is a rookie.

Furthermore, it looks like Taehyung has stuck to practicing with a 7-iron.

Of course, the idol mentioned this while speaking about his performance. “On a really good day I’ve hit 175~82-ish distance with a 7-iron,” he wrote on Weverse – an app launched by their entertainment company Hybe Corporation that encourages artist interaction.

Why might Taehyung be using a 7-iron?

As per experts and reports, a 7-iron is probably the easiest to start with and get used to. Typically, it will drive the ball at a distance of 120 yards. The distance, however, is more for that of a PGA Tour pro, who should be able to hit around 195 yards (or more).

Hopefully, Taehyung’s swing will only get better with time.

Having said that, the 26-year-old often speaks with fans on the Weverse app. On the same day, Taehyung revealed that his father was the reason why he started playing. “My dad said it’s his wish to go out in the field and play golf with his son so it’s been 3 weeks since I started playing/learning,” Taehyung wrote.

Fans labeled Taehyung a great son for learning while hoping to see more of some father-son bonding.

One fan even revealed some statements made by a golf course owner. Apparently, Taehyung has good form for a beginner.

More comments poured in to praise the star, who is always up for a new challenge. Many even wanted Taehyung to play golf with his actor friends Choi Woo-shik and Park Seo-joon. The latter two, also a part of the Wooga Squad with Taehyung, have recently created a buzz for playing golf.

As mentioned, Yoongi has also admitted to playing golf before. With Kim Taehyung having picked up the sport, the two group members might even spend time together on the course.

Additionally, his videos about golf and judo also seem to have fans convinced that the Winter Bear singer was working out more. Taehyung assured his fans via another Weverse comment. According to the k-pop idol, however, he was not doing sports, and certainly not working out like their youngest member, Jeon Jungkook.

While Taehyung uploaded a video with judo and golf, Jungkook has been uploading boxing videos on Instagram frequently.

On the other hand, V’s last release was his song Christmas Tree, a soundtrack for the drama Our Beloved Summer. The Korean singer even praised Jungkook and Yoongi’s recent song Stay Alive – which is also a soundtrack for their webtoon Chakho. While Jungkook has sung the song Suga produced, Taehyung and all other members were a part of the music video.

What do you think of Taehyung’s latest golf interest? Do you like his form? Let us know.
