Jon Rahm is a man known for performing on the biggest stages. Driven by passion and love for the sport, Rahm has been able to overcome the biggest challenges to enter the winner’s circle. Fondly known as Rahmbo, the Spaniard has always received a lot of love from the fans and his colleagues for his attitude and commitment towards golf.
So it doesn’t come as a surprise that Jon Rahm refused to consider an opportunity away from the professional side of the sport. That’s right, Rahm was recently questioned whether he would follow in the footsteps of fellow LIV Golf pro, Bryson DeChambeau.
Jon Rahm was at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale Arizona for a round of 18 recently. He faced off against three of the hosts of Bob Does Sports. Right before teeing off for the second hole, Rahm was questioned “Do you think you’ll ever start a channel one day, Jon?”

It seems that Jon Rahm had already thought about it as he straightaway responded to the question. Refusing the possibility of it ever happening, Rahm said, “Knowing my personality, it would probably consume too much of my time that I should focus on actually being a better golfer.” Rahm made it clear that it’s not the right step to take as long as he is a professional golfer. He also stated that delving into the world of content creation would mess with his gameplay. This entire situation occurred during an 18-hole challenge between the Boys and Jon Rahm on the Bob Does Sports YouTube channel.

Bryson DeChambeau has done some amazing work in that space and it has helped him gain a lot of love and support from the golf community. But the amount of time and stress that goes into such projects cannot be undermined. Jon Rahm’s understanding of the same not only shows that he has considered it before, but that he also puts a lot of thought into what he is doing. Besides, being a content creator is not an easy job, especially if it’s based on golf. Another YouTuber recently commented on the same during a recent interview. Let’s see what he had to say.
Bryson DeChambeau’s side-gig in trouble
During The Rough Cut Golf Podcast, golf content creator Grant Horvat shared his experience working in the YouTube golf space. During the interview, Horvat mentioned, “I think it’s just really saturated,” as he talked about content opportunities available in the space. He stated how everyone is recycling the “same old stuff” and that “you can only go (so far)” when you try to create content here.

He did however commend Bryson DeChambeau on the kind of content he is presenting. But with that as well, he stated how DeChambeau brings in a lot of star power and that’s why he’s able to attract partnerships with the likes of Phil Mickelson and Donald Trump. While the same applies to Jon Rahm, he will still not be the first one to do so. And again, there is a limit to how many celebrities you can pair up with to gain views. Hence, the YouTube golf space will always have an expiry date.
