Bryson DeChambeau reached an incredible milestone in his content creation career as he gained 1 million subscribers on YouTube. The monumental feat was conquered right after his ‘Break 50’ video with former POTUS, Donald Trump, went viral on the platform. Even before that, the 2-time US Open winner shared a good relationship with Trump. Nonetheless, during the video, the 30-year-old ensured both were focused on a single goal.
It was all about charity! Bryson DeChambeau revealed at the press conference in the UK that he has been working with the Wounded Warrior Project, which works for veterans and active duty service members, and had raised money for them before. With his video, DeChambeau wanted to hit two birds with one stone: making good content and helping with the fundraiser.
Once Trump knew about the charity, he agreed, as DeChambeau said, “Wanted to make it about charity and the Wounded Warriors Foundation. I’ve done a lot for them in the past, and it was fantastic to see that he was willing to support it.” Jointly, the two individuals raised approximately $220,000 from the video after making twelve birdies and five eagles over 18 holes. Notably, DeChambeau revealed in the video that they will donate $10,000 per birdie and $20,000 per eagle.

The reigning US Open champions were further asked about the idea behind the video. He revealed he wanted to work with an influential golfer regardless of their political standpoint, and it was an honor, for example, to play with Trump. Evidently, the concept worked out in his favor, and he achieved one more goal through the video.

Bryson DeChambeau wanted to try something unique
In the press conference, the 30-year-old explained that he first got the idea of collaborating with a POTUS and hadn’t decided on Trump. So, he contacted Trump’s team and shared the opinion of the two playing for the challenge. He further clarified that the “other side,” was also contacted for the same, but didn’t delve into their response. But it was apparent from which side he received the positive response.
Nonetheless, Trump successfully agreed, and the two shot the video in three days, starting on July 6th. It was before the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, happened. Then, the two-time major winner revealed that the video “was about delivering some unique different content on YouTube, and we wanted to showcase the golf abilities of any influential person,” besides raising a fundraiser.
