Bryson DeChambeau and John Daly pairing up—could this be the most exciting duo in golf history?

Bryson DeChambeau is a member of the One Million Club! However, it was not money that the two-time U.S. Open winner gained. The LIV Golf Pro reached a huge milestone on his YouTube channel as he attained 1 million subscribers, winning the race from influencer golfer Grant Hovart. The sensational subscriber count came after he collaborated with the former POTUS, Donald Trump.

DeChambeau and the 45th president played the ‘Break 50’ challenge for the golfer’s YouTube audience, where the 30-year-old hosts renowned personalities (mostly from the golf world). In this particular YT segment, they attempt to break 50 in a two-man scramble from the most forward tees over 18 holes. Trump and DeChambeau couldn’t break the score, but their round went up just shy of one shot at Trump’s course in Bedminster. After the successful episode with Trump, DeChambeau posted a question on his X handle, “Who should I have on the next episode of Break 50?”

The question caught the attention of 2-time major winner John Daly, who was up for the challenge as he enthusiastically replied to the question by saying, “LFG.” Although DeChambeau reverted to Daly’s suggestion, this little interaction could lay the groundwork for the next pair-up for the Break 50 challenge. So far, the 2-time U.S. Open winner has had many top golfers from the industry take up the challenge, including Paige Spiranac, Sergio Garcia, GM Golf, and more.

By far, the LIV Golf pro was able to come close to the breaking 50 challenge with Trump as he shot 12 birdies, five eagles, and a par to finish off with 22 under 50. The two were exhausted yet enjoyed themselves by the end of the challenge and promised that they might do it once again. As for the next episode, would DeChambeau and Daly actually team up for the challenge? Well, their relationship may allow them to do so.

Are Bryson DeChambeau and John Daly close?

The PGA Tour and LIV Golf have been in a long tussle with each other, but it seems it doesn’t affect John Daly and Bryson DeChambeau. Surprisingly, the two share a close friendship with each other, and in an interview with the Press and Journal, Daly revealed that the LIV pro calls him “daddy” out of respect.

Have an interesting take?

Furthermore, the 58-year-old described DeChambeau as “a great, great kid.” Once, the 30-year-old LIV pro complimented the one-time Open winner about his swing and shared that he wanted to have a similar strength when he reached the 50s. The two pros have been paired before at the 2022 Open Championship and the dual between them was one for experience.

Given their relationship and having played together before, Daly and DeChambeau may pair up for the upcoming episode of the ‘Break 50’ series. And as long hitters, may reach the goal that the 2-time U.S. Open winner has set since the 2023 season. It would surely be entertaining for the fans to see the Daly-DeChambeau pair score the lowest score in the Break 50 Challenge’s history.
