“Hey, mom and dad,” DeChambeau called his parents. “I did it,” he said as his parents expressed their joy for him winning the US Open through the video call.

Bryson DeChambeau dominated the field in the final round of the 2020 US Open with his monstrous shots. The transition he had from his skinny self to the Hulk-like body within a short amount of time and the hard work he put on to hit bombs paved the way for him to win his first major title at the Winged Foot.

DeChambeau had a 6-shot lead against the second-place golfer, Matthew Wolff, after finishing his round on Sunday. Hence, everyone was sure he would win the title since the middle of the round. And he also knew the 2020 US Open title would be his by then. “Hey, mom and dad, love you,” the confident DeChambeau said to the camera as he walked towards the 18th hole to finish the game and claim his title.
Jon and Jan DeChambeau, his parents, couldn’t attend the 2020 US Open, like they missed a lot of his other wins, due to his father’s health issues, including diabetes, heart issues, kidney failure, etc.
Notably, Jon DeChambeau passed away recently, and his 29-year-old son revealed it through a heart-whelming social media post. He also posted a couple of his old man’s pictures to reminisce about the good old days spent with him.
