Bryson DeChambeau may look like a giant, intimidating figure on the outside, but he has the heart of a child on the inside. This pro golfer has won eight times on the PGA Tour, including one major championship – the 2020 U.S. Open.

He has been in the news for his achievements and rage. But that isn’t all there is to him. He was titled as a child and was called stupid for his comment at the 2020 U.S. Open.
Bryson DeChambeau called out for his comment
The 2020 US Open champion, nicknamed ‘the scientist’ for his analytical approach to the game, hit just four fairways on his way to a 71. After shooting one-over-par in the first round of the 149th Open Championship at Royal St. George’s, Bryson DeChambeau blamed his poor performance on his driver. DeChambeau only hit 28.5 percent of the fairways, which is about half the field average. However, the big-hitting DeChambeau said the fault was with his big club, and not his skills.
DeChambeau struggled on the front nine, shooting two over par. But he rallied with three straight birdies on the back nine. However, he lost momentum with two more dropped shots after finding trouble off the tee again. His fairways-hit percentage of 28.5 percent was well below the field average. However, DeChambeau childishly blamed it on his driver. According to him, if he could hit it down the middle of the fairway, that’s great, but with his current driver, it was simply impossible. According to him, the driver “su***d.”
Club manufacturer calls out Dechambeau’s comments
Club manufacturer Cobra was not pleased with the comments made about their driver, which was designed with a 46-inch shaft and only five degrees of loft specifically for DeChambeau. They called his comments “stupid”. Cobra’s tour operations manager, Ben Schomin, who caddied for the player at the Rocket Mortgage Classic a fortnight ago, told Golfweek that everybody was bending over backwards.

He told Golfweek about DeChambeau and said, “It’s just really, really painful when he says something that stupid. He has never really been happy, ever.” Schomin compared DeChambeau to an eight-year-old and said that it’s like an eight-year-old that gets mad at you and they might fly off the handle. Schomin also said that he will just back up his comment by saying that he was mad. He said that we know as adults that they really don’t mean that. And Schomin was aware that if he got Bryson cornered immediately and asked, what the f**k did you say that for? He would say that he was mad.
