Bryson DeChambeau appeared on the cover of Golf Digest earlier this month, ahead of The Crypto Showdown, where he will team up with Brooks Koepka for a match against PGA Tour superstars Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler on December 17. However, what captured the community’s attention instead was an accidental revelation from the golf star…

In a group photo that was posted by Golf Digest on December 2, DeChambeau was seen donning a grey cap with the NetJets logo and a light blue polo Reebok shirt—with a logo of his LIV Golf team Crushers GC. The twist was neither he, his team or the $2.5 billion brand had announced any tie-ups officially, which made the incident even more intriguing. But not anymore!

On December 11, Reebok took to their official X account to share a golf promotional video. In the video, a golf cart appeared in the course, and someone got off it to hit a swing. Who that was wasn’t clear. But it’s more than a fair guess. You see, the entire focus was on the black Reebok shoes that the golfer wore when he jumped out of the golf cart. But here’s the catch. They said, “We’re breaking 50 today”.

And well, we all know who’s challenge that is! The Break 50 hint gives out the fact that the Crushers GC captain has indeed got into an endorsement deal with the brand. This comes two years after DeChambeau’s old sponsor, Rocket Mortgage, officially cut ties with him as he to LIV Golf. But more on that later, as the new development seems like a step in the right direction…

Talking about the same, the Crushers GC captain said in an interview as per Forbes, “I’m proud to partner with Reebok to usher in the brand’s return to golf. When looking for a partner for Crushers GC, we wanted to find a brand that aligns with our vision for golf’s future and has the ability to increase visibility of the game around the world, and Reebok was the perfect fit. With a great legacy in disrupting sport culture, I’m excited to see what we can do together to push the sport of golf to new heights.”

Notably, Reebok is returning to the performance golf vertical after two decades—their last partnership was with veteran retired golfer Greg Norman (who spent a staggering 331 weeks as world number one in the 1980s and 1990s).

In their latest partnership, DeChambeau and his team members, Paul Casey, Charles Howell III, and Anirban Lahiri, will be will be decked out in Reebok kicks and togs. As part of the deal, the brand will also introduce a new on-course performance golf shoe called Nano (it will be available for purchase in March 2025). Digital and social content will also be a part of the 2020 US Open winner’s partnership.

He will debut the products—which also include outerwear and pants with logoed team wear—at the Crypto.com Showdown on December 17. The financial terms of the multiyear deal have not been disclosed.

So, of course, Reebok CEO Todd Krinsky is excited. “Reebok’s return to performance golf is the latest tentpole in our long-term strategy to return to our rightful place in sport and sport culture. It’s incredible to see golf’s popularity continue to skyrocket and we’re thrilled to re-enter the category at such a pivotal time, one where we can help share the future of golf culture for a new generation of athletes,” the executive said.

“Bryson’s social media presence and fresh approach to content creation is something that we admire and are eager to tap into within this partnership. We see great opportunity to leverage Bryson’s expertise to develop content created directly by him for Reebok marketing efforts,” he concluded.

The 31-year-old has amassed an impressive 1.63 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, thanks to his distinctive challenges and quirky videos. His popular series, like The Break 50 and his Ace over the House challenges, have made a significant impact on the golf community. Partnering with him would undoubtedly bring a major boost to any company, tapping into his broad and engaged fanbase.

Thankfully, it seems like things are finally working out for the Crushers GC Captain after joining LIV Golf. After all, it’s been two years since he lost his biggest sponsor, when he and the others deflected to LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau was stripped off his Rocket Mortgage partnership and more

DeChambeau is undoubtedly one of the greatest golfers in the present day. And thus, there is no question as to why he was offered a four-year, $125 million contract with the league in June 2022. And well, he signed it too. Along with Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka and others, he was among the first few players to join LIV. However, this caused him a loss.

A few hours after the update, Rocket Mortgage ended its sponsorship deal with Bryson DeChambeau, issuing a brief statement. “Effective immediately, Rocket Mortgage has terminated its sponsorship agreement with Bryson. We wish him well in his future endeavors,” they revealed. Rocket Mortgage is one of the primary partners of the PGA Tour. They’re even the title sponsors of Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. So it was almost inevitable.

Sadly, that was not all for the losses. Just after playing a month in LIV Golf, in July 2022 Bridgestone Golf decided to pause the sponsorship with the golfing star. They had been together for six years, but decided to put things on hold. Jonathan Wall shared the news and wrote, “The PGA Tour is an extremely important part of professional golf, and Bridgestone has a sports marketing relationship with this highly visible series of tournaments.” Since DeChambeau was no longer involved in those events, the company believed it no longer made sense to continue their partnership.

Now DeChambeau is back on the horse. Reebok, the multi-billion-dollar company, is no joke. And perhaps Rocket Mortgage and Bridgestone are in for some regrets. What do you think?
