DeChambeau said, “And I had been texting with him a little bit, but shook his hand and just like, nothing, there was nothing. He’d just look at you. And that’s when I first met him. You’d be like this, and he’d just look at you and just look away and not even know you were there anymore. That’s how weird — amazing it was.”

DeChambeau also added how clueless he was regarding what to say to his idol while walking to the 10th hole. He also mentioned how there was no conversation between them for the next two holes. But finally, for the 12th hole, DeChambeau asked Woods about his putting.
The 28-year-old said, “And then finally on 12, I asked him about something in his putting, and it’s like — because I’m a geek when it comes to putting and golf and whatever; everybody calls me the scientist, whatever — he’s a nerd as well.” DeChambeau ends by saying, “Complete nerd. And I love it.”
Bryson talked how the 46-year-old was so well versed with minute details of putting. DeChambeau was lucky enough to play golf with Woods during a practice session because if he did play with him during a competitive tournament, there wouldn’t be much of conversation happening.
