Golf fans like to see tournaments happening, but they do like to experience it themselves as well. The leagues have somewhat made it possible for them, all thanks to the technology. This is the world of online gaming, and golf is in it too. The American Tour has a PGA Tour 2K series which is a series of golf video games developed by HB Studios and published by 2K Sports. It is officially licensed by the PGA Tour, allowing players to compete on real-world courses with professional golfers.
The games focus on offering a realistic golfing experience, with features including career modes, online multiplayer, and course design tools. Now, LIV Golf is also striving to expand the league and make it available in more parts of the golf community. On June 6, 2024, Zynga Inc., a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software (NASDAQ: TTWO) and a global leader in interactive entertainment, announced a partnership with LIV Golf to introduce LIV Golf-branded content in Zynga’s popular mobile game, Golf Rival.
From June 8-16, Golf Rival players can join a limited-time tournament and purchase exclusive LIV Golf-branded golf balls to help them navigate the toughest holes. To celebrate LIV Golf’s debut in the game, Golf Rival was supposed to be hosting an additional in-game tournament from July 20-28. However, there were several delays to the launch. But as it turns out, the wait is finally over. The official X account of the LIV Golf League recently took to its wall and shared the update.

LIV’s advancements and experiments come at a sensitive time. The PGA Tour and PIF merger, announced in June 2023, has yet to yield results. Both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf are already planning for the 2025 season, suggesting the merger may not be finalized this year. As per a few reports, there are certain roadblocks in the agreement such as Tour pros’ unwillingness to play outside the States. But, it is being said that within 6 months, the world will have an answer as to where the $3B merger stands.
Well, that is not all for LIV Golf’s expansion series. As it turns out, the CEO of the breakaway league, who will soon be stepping down, has agreed to add a new country to the Asian Tour’s International Series.
