Will Bryson and Phil finally break 50, or is this just another entertaining golf spectacle?

Bryson DeChambeau’s Break 50 is undoubtedly a running success. With eminent guests like Donald Trump and Paige Spiranac, he has managed to garner a lot of followers and their admiration. However, ironically enough, he has not been able to break 50 with any of the guests so far. With season 1 coming to an end, the Scientist decided to call in the big guns. The next guest for his YouTube show? None other than Phil Mickelson.

Last year, in August, Bryson DeChambeau challenged Lefty into a nine-hole match during a practice round at the Old White for the Greenbrier. Well, it turned out to be exceptionally entertaining and involved a lot of gambling, beautiful shots, and of course, trash-talking. Bryson DeChambeau partnered with Anirban Lahiri, and Phil Mickelson partnered with Cameron Tringale. The latter team won the match, shooting the 28 which they needed to double the bet.

Looks like this time, DeChambeau is planning to play if safer. Instead of challenging Lefty, he has decided to partner up with him to ultimately break 50 in his show. The official Instagram account of Crushers GC collaborated with that of LIV Golf League and HyFlyers GC and uploaded the video of the duo warming up ahead of the match. The Scientist was asked about their strategy to break 50. “It’s going to be Phil’s wedges and putting. Because I’m pretty good around the greens, but Phil’s next level,” said the Scientist.

He is planning to utilize that to break 50. And well, Lefty was, of course, being the rather humorous person that he is on the greens. He cheekily pointed out that after a year of losing to him, DeChambeau now wants to partner up with him, rather than do a rematch. For this, Lefty with a hint of laugh referred to the 2x US Open winner as a “smart man” who has his “much respect.”
