Today, the PGA Tour shared a video that gave all viewers tears in their eyes. The video showed Tony Finau’s story, displaying his mother’s sacrifices to help him become the successful golfer he is today. The PGA Tour’s official Twitter handle shared the video and Finau had also shared it earlier as a tribute on Mother’s Day.

The video was about how Finau’s family wasn’t financially very strong. It began with Finau talking about what he had to do to qualify for the US Junior Ryder Cup team. “All I needed to do was play one more PGA Junior Series tournament.” He mentioned having a lot of pressure on himself, as his parents were making tons for his golf dream.

Finau said that his family “didn’t have enough money to travel” and that his job was to give his best in the tournament. And the same thing happened as he shot 69, finding himself in the lead. All his golf mates loved his performance and invited him over for dinner. Finau agreed and asked his mom to join them, but she refused.

Finau enjoyed himself at the dinner and said, “I just remember eating everything in sight.” When he came back home, he found his mom sitting on the bed with coins in her hands, crying silently. And that’s when the most emotional statement in the video hits. When he asked his mom about what was wrong, she said, “Son, I really wanted to go to dinner with you, but we didn’t have enough money.”
