Jena Sims is known for her philanthropy. Her venture, Pageant of Hope does the good work, and she is also associated with Paley Institute’s unLIMBited Foundation, aiming to support children with limb differences. Time, and again she has stood up for people, so how could she not for a “beyond devastating” situation like the LA fires?

Skincare brands Kiehl’s and Summer Fridays were also quick to send products, and Jena acknowledged it saying, ”I personally know women and teen girls who are needing skincare, toiletries.”  Summer Fridays, a vegan and cruelty-free brand created by Lauren and Marianna, two mothers from California is doing their part. It made donations to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Baby2Baby, Pasadena Humane Society, and World Central Kitchen.

World Central Kitchen helps provide meals to crisis-affected areas while Baby2Baby is a nonprofit that provides necessities to vulnerable children and families. The Pasadena Humane Society is helping to serve as a lifeline for pets impacted by the Los Angeles Fire. The Fire Department Foundation serves as a platform to aid the Fire Department members in fighting the wildfires better. The brand is also trying to gather resources to help impacted people.

The death toll currently stands at 24, per BBC, and the raging winds make the situation even more dangerous. The fire has consumed over 60 square miles and is yet to be contained. The devastation it has left in its wake has been unprecedented but has created a sense of solidarity.

Collin Morikawa’s TGL Team the Los Angeles Club decided to conduct a watch party on January 14th, and the entire proceeds from the ticketing sales would be donated to the LAFD Foundation. The first match of TGL saw great viewership numbers, so the hope is that even this week’s match will show similar success.

Sahith Theegala has also been putting an active effort to raise funds for the wildfire-affected people. He had initially planned to donate $100 for every birdie and $250 for every eagle he made during the Sony Open to the fire relief programs. But, considering the situation, he has decided to extend this initiative for several more weeks. “Any little bit helps during this devastating time,” Theegala stated.
