Brooks Koepka is a lucky man, both on and off the course. He met his wife Jena Sims in 2015, and the couple hit it off immediately. Other than her wit, Sims truly stands out for her philanthropic nature. The Krispy Kreme connoisseur has been working as the founder of a not-for-profit organization called the Pageant of Hope. They aim to ‘empower, celebrate, and advocate for children facing challenges while celebrating inner beauty and self-confidence.’

Her fans are always left in awe of her generous nature, and her latest endeavor was no different. She went to meet a patient at the Paley Institute, and the video was overwhelming. Jena Sims spent an entire day with a young patient called Charliegh. Sharing glimpses of her heartwarming outing, she mentioned that Charliegh “is an adorable and energetic patient over at the Paley Institute. She was born with arthrogryposis and is undergoing several different surgeries”. They are seen playing together in the hospital, and Sims has also been teaching her how to move her legs with her cast. Well, that’s not all.

She was also given the Tour of the house where all the patients of the Paley Institute stay. “I had the privilege of spending an entire day with my new bestie. She’s giving me a tour of the Quantum House which is where the Paley patients stay during their limb-lengthening surgeries and their recovery patients from all over the world, stay here and meet with these world-renowned doctors. Shout out to the local companies that provide dinner for the Quantum House residents. And for the unlimited Foundation for providing Financial relief for these amazing families”, said Jena Sims in the video.

Many individuals with arthrogryposis multiplex congenital (AMC) can walk after surgery, but the success and degree of mobility depend on factors like the severity of the condition, the type of surgery performed, and the age at which surgery is done. Arthrogryposis involves joint contractures and muscle weakness, and surgical interventions such as soft tissue releases, joint fusions, bone surgeries, and tendon lengthening can help improve function and alignment. Early surgery, particularly in childhood, tends to offer the best outcomes as the muscles and joints are still developing.

Given that Charliegh is a lot younger, and is being given the best treatment, she should be all fine. Yet out of curiosity, one of them asked, “Very cute! Just curious can she walk in those casts? I don’t think I saw her walking so maybe not. I’m sure they do amazing things to help her. She’s adorable.” While another, touched by her optimism wrote, “Assuming she is on her way to walking with the casts! She’s very energetic. Cutie”.
