Is Brooks Koepka the ultimate troll in golf, or is he just being brutally honest?

Despite a thousand backlashes against LIV Golf, the league players know how to enjoy their events. One of those is Brooks Koepka! The 34-year-old golfer played an iconic prank with his league mates. Here’s what happened on the greens of Valderrama in LIV Andalucía, and seemed that Jon Rahm could not believe what he was seeing.

Earlier today, Smash GC and LIV Golf League shared a video of Koepka from inside a van. He was getting ready to descend on the greens. However, one thing was exceptionally odd. Koepka was seen wearing an England football team Jersey. In the video, the golfer was seen tapping on his jersey and saying, “England, England’s Jersey.”

England vs Spain is a reality after six long years. The two teams are about to tussle against each other in the finale of Euro Cup 2024. By wearing the English Jersey, Koepka planned to enrage and troll the Spaniards who are rooting for their home country.

Then he went ahead to reveal his plan with such a change of clothing. He said, “Playing with two Spaniards. The whole crowd’s Spanish this week. Let’s go.” As soon as the golfer was in front of the crowd everyone broke out on the Vamos chant.

The video shared by LIV Golf captioned, “Grouped with two Spaniards? @bkoepka had to stay true to his @england boys before today’s round 😆 #EURO2024.” Along with the Spanish crowd, on the field were Rahm and Garcia, two of the most popular Spanish golfers. And when they saw Koepka walking with the jersey on, Garcia was shocked and speechless. While Jon Rahm held a stern face without a clue that they were getting pranked.

One of the fans stated, “The villain has arrived!! Love it !!!” Brooks Koepka, who hails from West Palm Beach, did not hesitate to pull off such a shocking move. With the whole crowd rooting for Spain this season for their fourth trophy at the Euro Cup, showing support to England certainly puts Koepka in the wrong side. The Amercian golfer was thus portrayed as  as a betraying ‘villain’ of one kind of its own. However, the purpose was to get a good laugh out of it. And Koepka had certainly acted the role very well for fans to love it. Another fan suggested, “Troll them Spaniards.” Although the crowd made the prank all the better with their Vamos chants, the two golfers, Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm, were left speechless by Koepka’s out-of-the-blue move.

“Rahm couldn’t even smile at him 😂😂😂,” said another fan. Out of most LIV players, it was certainly Jon Rahm who was by far affected the most by his shift to the league. And the horror on his face could retell all of it when he saw Koepka in the jersey. The 2-times Major champion was speechless and had not entertained the idea that Koepka might be joking. It was only after the latter took off his gimmick jersey and revealed the authentic one, did Rahm was seen smiling confusingly.

Yet another fan wrote, “Brooksie chose violence today!! 😂😂” This is not the first time when Koepka has been involved in a prank. The golfer was once pranked by his friend Dustin Johnson. The latter had plastered Koepka’s famous ESPN Magazine’s The Body Issue on his parking spot nameplate. Another time, Koepka himself became the prankster and posted three eye emojis right when LIV Golf’s maiden event was underway. What he did in Spain today was another exemplary act by Koepka that no one was expecting at all.

“Ultimate Pi** Take, love it, brooks,” said someone else. They suggested how Koepka’s prank was certainly making fun of the situation when the entire nation of Spain was patriotic. The ‘English’ slang made it all the more funny, especially after the troll’s effect on Rahm. His concerned and shocked reaction to the scene was evidence of Koepka’s success.
