Koepka’s eyes have long been set on double digits; he’s gunning for 10 major victories, a feat only a select few have pulled off in golf’s rich history. “That’s something, I think, that is very attainable. I’ve said it a few times, I should have eight, realistically, right now,” he said to LIV Golf’s Rick Shiels in a match on YouTube.
Then, one moment, Brooks Koepka was three shots clear of the cut line at The Masters with just two holes to play. Next, he was out of the tournament. Surprising, right? That’s exactly what happened to the five-time major champion. A costly bogey at the par-4 17th put him on the edge, and while a birdie on 18 could’ve saved him, it didn’t happen. As a result, Koepka missed the cut for the first time since 2022. Sad over this breakdown, he didn’t talk to the media and left. However, he might have now found a moment of relief. How?
Days after his Augusta collapse, Brooks Koepka took to Instagram to share an update—not about golf, but his horse, Givemefive. Co-owned with teammate Graeme McDowell, the horse triumphed at Cheltenham under trainer Harry Derham. Following that, Koepka reshared the story and said, “Good boy, five,” which also became a reason for his smile after the meltdown at the Masters. After the race, trainer Harry Derham praised jockey Paul O’Brien for his strong front-running ride. O’Brien not only selected the race but also guided Givemefive to a victory in the JCB Challenger Two Mile Hurdle, holding off Got Grey to win by three-quarters of a length.

“It’s often tough for the four-year-olds who go into open company the following season. Cheltenham was our absolute mission at the start of the season, and he won, so that was great. We tried him in a couple of class one handicaps, but he just wasn’t quite up to it,” said Derham on Racing TV. Interestingly, Givemefive and trainer Harry Derham also won a race last year in October at the Masterson Holdings Hurdle. Thanks to the horse’s help, Derham secured two wins from four hurdle starts last season and came within three-quarters of a length of Kalif Du Berlais in the Grade 2 Adonis Hurdle at Kempton.

Later, the trainer talked about it and said, “He did really well last season.” While going into the details, he also added, “His Kempton run was very good and I think it was his best performance. He came back sick from Fairyhouse, but I’m not making an excuse because on the day, he just wasn’t good enough. It looks a pretty competitive race on Saturday, so he’ll have his work cut out,” as revealed on the Racing Post website. While the horse gets his treatments to stay poised on the tracks, Koepka doesn’t hold back sharing healthcare methods with his four-legged friend.
The $50 treatment that got Koepka back in the game
Wrist Pain? One could try a horse chiropractor. Brooks Koepka’s recovery from a wrist injury in 2018 involved an unconventional treatment: a horse chiropractor. According to Koepka’s short-game coach, Pete Cowen, the golfer sought out this specialist after traditional medical consultations failed to resolve his issue. The horse chiropractor reportedly identified the problem quickly, providing a $50 treatment that alleviated Koepka’s pain.
This unorthodox approach garnered attention and sparked curiosity about alternative rehabilitation methods in sports. While the specifics of the treatment remain somewhat mysterious, Koepka’s subsequent success, including victories in major tournaments, has been partly attributed to this unexpected remedy

Brooks Koepka’s wife is always there for him
After a meltdown at a major like the Masters, the world talks a lot. Especially if you are a personality like Brooks Koepka, who has five major wins to his name. However, at times like these, what anyone needs is the support of family. Luckily, Koepka is blessed with that, and his wife Jena Sims always comes to rescue. She posted a bunch of pictures showcasing gifts from the Smoking Flamingo apparel company, which sent designer baby clothes for his trip to Augusta.

While doing so, she also wrote, “We always have your back 😘💚” showing her support for her husband. Meanwhile, the golfer also complements perfectly. Last month, he made an appearance to support Sims’s charitable efforts at the Pageant of Hope—a heartwarming, non-competitive event that celebrates children overcoming challenges. Sims later posted a picture with excitement and said, “Always the loudest cheerleader in the room. Love ya @bkoepka.”
With this, it’s evident that both of them are there for each other, no matter what happens on the golf greens. What do you think about Brooks Koepka and his wife? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!
