The PGA Tour and LIV Golf rivalry has taken a new turn, and Greg Norman is leading it. A few days back official Twitter handle of Flushing It posted a tweet. In the tweet, they said what asked the fans of golf what would have happened if an event between LIV Golf and PGA Tour players existed. The tweet stirred the golf world in many ways. In fact, it even made the Tour veteran-turned-LIV Golf defector Phil Mickelson chime in with his thoughts on the same.

This discussion is familiar. Since the Saudi-backed circuit came into existence, the storyline of the golf world has changed. Many elite golfers left the legacy of the PGA Tour behind and joined LIV. The new 54-hole format and the big bucks offered by them attracted golfers. Despite scrutiny from the golf world, golfers did what they had to for their careers. And now and then, fans discuss the theories of placing a LIV player and the PGA Tour player against each other and see how it goes.

And now, even LIV Golf CEO and former world no. 1 Greg Norman has taken this discussion to a new level.

Greg Norman challenged the PGA Tour

According to Norman, LIV abandoned the efforts to reach a truce with PGA commissioner Jay Monahan last year. The retired pro claimed to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach that the cold war that erupted when LIV lured some well-known players away with guaranteed contracts hasn’t cooled and that they decided to move on. His comments followed the PGA Tour’s announcement of “enhancements,” which included elite golfers pledging to play in more tournaments, bigger payouts, and a guaranteed wage for any full-time players. However, a few days back, Jay Monahan also had the same kind of discussion, only it was about their product vs. his product and not players.

And now, the white shark of golf has taken that rivalry to another level. He posted a tweet challenging the PGA Tour publically. The LIV Golf CEO posted a picture with a result of a little survey done by Golf Digest. The survey concluded that 91% of golf enthusiasts would love to watch a LIV vs. PGA tournament in Ryder Cup format.

Notably, GD even also chose the golfers who would play against each other. And as expected, the former number one golfer, Tiger Woods, was set against his all-time rival, Mickelson.

Norman’s tweet showed that he wanted a LIV Golf vs. PGA Tour championship where the ultimate champion could be crowned.
