The Greg Norman-led league has already signed Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and other prominent names. Furthermore, they are trying to attract as many eminent golfers as possible to boost their league. Therefore, this latest announcement will be a worrying sign for the PGA Tour and its fans.

LIV Golf will sign seven notable players following the FedExCup playoffs

The PGA Tour is trying to restrict golfers from moving to the rival 54-hole league. However, LIV Golf has overwhelming financial backing, making it easier for Norman to sign new golfers to their tiny 48-player field.

Meanwhile, NUCLR Golf, a prominent Twitter account on golf Twitter, tweeted that around seven golfers will join this league in Boston after the FedExCup playoffs. He wrote, “As many as 7 new names will be joining the field in Boston for LIV Golf, as post-playoff announcements are on the horizon.”

However, the names of these golfers aren’t known yet. But reports suggest all of them are from the PGA Tour. Meanwhile, there has been no official confirmation of this news from LIV Golf or Greg Norman. So we probably need to wait until the final day of the Tour Championship.

Fans believe one of the seven names will be the 2022 Champion Golfer of the Year, Cameron Smith. He hasn’t denied or confirmed his participation in the next event. Hence, the speculation about him joining the Greg Norman-led league is high.

However, by joining this league, they will face a lifetime suspension from the PGA Tour. The Tour has already clarified that rival golfers will not be allowed to compete in any of the PGA Tour events in the future. But all these golfers who will join or have already joined the rival league seem to have no issues.
