With the Masters underway this week, the entire golf world is focused on the players at Augusta National. However, amidst the ongoing discussions regarding which golf superstar will walk away with the prestigious Green Jacket this year, many fans have also expressed their curiosity about the renowned course that has been the host of the major championship for almost a century. The Augusta National Golf Course boasts numerous captivating features, including the infamous Amen Corner and an array of unique flora and fauna. But the most surprising wonder of them all is its value!
Augusta National: The million-dollar club
The National first opened for play in 1932, two years before it began hosting the Masters. But the land that the club is built on, i.e., the 365-acre site, was bought a year earlier, in 1931, for the meager price of $70,000. Back then, of course, that was a whoppingly huge amount!

5. Augusta was purchased for $70,000 in 1931 — an inflation-adjusted $1.4 million today — but now has an assessed value of $200 million (+ 14,000%).
6. There is no running allowed at Augusta National.
7. Over 700 volunteers work at the tournament each year (thousands apply).
