Kevin Kisner has turned a new leaf but has not shrugged off his past as a pro golfer. He didn’t want to, in fact. Kisner was ready to use his cordial relationship with golfers as an advantage in the booth. Jordan Spieth was the first ‘victim’ of his razor-sharp wit after the PGA Tour pro missed a three-foot putt.
Spieth’s short game has come to haunt him and his fans lately. Currently, the three-time Major winner is playing the Sentry. When he missed a three-foot birdie putt on the par 5, 15th hole, Kisner laid it on the line, drawing praise from the golf community.
Gone with the wind? Kevin Kisner doesn’t think so
Jordan Spieth seemed to be dithering while taking a three-foot putt. Kisner, who ranked 9th in terms of Strokes Gained in putting in the 2020-21 season, said, “I’ll tell him to speed it up.” As Spieth went to miss the birdie putt, the ball lipped out of the hole which seemed to justify Kisner’s comments.
The thirteen-time PGA Tour winner went on to make par but was visibly frustrated. However, to Kisner’s disbelief, Spieth was heard murmuring, “The wind picking up”, in addition to blaming the grain for tilting the ball to the right. But the newly appointed NBC analyst had enough by that time.
“It’s three feet Jordan, just knock it in, bud,” the four-time PGA Tour winner commented to uproarious laughter in the booth. The clip went viral after Golf Digest’s Christopher Powers shared it on X (formerly Twitter).

Netizens didn’t take long to shoot sarcasm-laced bullets at Jordan Spieth. Interestingly, Kisner’s comments caught the eye of PGA Tour pro Hunter Mahan as well.
Fans pull no punches in slamming Jordan Spieth
Fans heaped praise on Kisner for calling out Jordan Spieth’s shenanigans. They were happy that, finally, someone was here to slap PGA Tour pros for their lame excuses.
This fan was relieved that Kisner called a spade a spade. They couldn’t believe that Spieth had the gall to blame external factors for his silly putt.
Finally. Then he blames wind and grain.

Another fan mocked Spieth for blaming the wind and grain as well. They pointed out that Spieth might as well blame his caddie, Michael Greller, for not stopping the wind.
“You didn’t stop the wind, Michael. I felt your presence, Michael. You let me down, Michael.”

This user was a little divided. Being a Spieth fan, it hurt them, but at the same time, he was thankful to Kisner for being blunt.
Quality from Kisner 🤣🤣 Love Spieth but some amount of bollocks spoken by pro golfers

PGA Tour pro-Hunter Mahan, too, praised his colleague. Kisner is known for his razor-sharp wit, and Mahan’s comment further proves that.

Another user, too, heaped praise on Kisner for his witty remarks. In fact, this fan said that Kevin Kisner is the new gold standard.
First tourney as a commentator and already more gold from the booth than I’ve ever heard https://t.co/xP06F42fYU

Two years ago, Jordan Spieth was the third-best player on the Tour in terms of putting average. However, last year, the 30-year-old slipped to the 20th position in the same field. This three-foot miss shows everything that went wrong for the three-time Major winner last year.
