With such high payouts, is the Boeing Classic becoming the new must-watch event in golf?

The PGA Tour has returned to the Club at Snoqualmie Ridge in Washington. After the first round, four golfers shared the lead. Woody Austin, Steven Alker, Robert Karlsson, and Gene Sauers are placed at the top of the leaderboard with a score of -6. Currently, two rounds have already concluded, and the final round begins in just a few hours.

Robert Karlsson will enter the round with a solo finish at 13-under, two strokes away from Charlie Wi. Bernhard Langer is currently at T14 and the defending champion Stephen Ames is tied for a T4 with Ernie Els and Steven Alker, seven strokes away from Karlsson. If he were really to win the tournament, how much money would he take back home?

Will Robert Karlsson take home the winner’s share?

Ever since its inception in 2005, when it was called the Boeing Greater Seattle Classic, no player has ever been able to win the championship twice in a row. However, it looks like Stephen Ames might be just close enough, but only a spectacular miracle can make it happen!

Will Stephen Ames create history at the 2024 Boeing Classic?

Stephen Ames started the opening round on Friday with a birdie on the first hole. However, two holes later, he ended up carding a double bogey on the fourth hole, which was followed by two birdies on the remaining five holes of the front nine. At the back nine, he ended up carding two birdies and two bogeys, with a 1-under 71.

Round 2 went better, with a similar opening shot (a birdie). He then went on to card six birdies and two bogeys in the following round, with an impressive finish of 5-under 67. Had it not been for the bogey in his final round, Ames would have shared a third-place finish with Kirk Triplett. Nonetheless, as he entered round 2, he was below the top 25, but now he’s in the top 5. If he continues to gear up like this, and Robert Karlsson somehow ends up carding a few bogeys, maybe Ames will indeed grab a win for the second time in a row. Stay tuned to find out what happens today at the Club at Snoqualmie Ridge!
