Ludvig Aberg is a 3-month-old golf professional playing at the DP World’s BMW PGA Championship. Contrary to the popular opinion of the golf world, skipper Luke Donald admitted that Team Europe cannot do without the European Tour pro. Upholding that view were also golfers Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland.
At the pristine Wentworth Club’s West Course in Surrey, the 23-year-old grabbed his space as a co-leader after round 2. And his round 3 will be alongside Sweden’s Sebastian Söderberg, both clear off the rest of the field. In more exciting news, Nosferatu on Twitter announced a potential historic feat coming Ludvig Aberg’s way.
The caption reads, “A win at the @BMWPGA would propel Ludvig Aberg into the Top 50 in the world rankings! That would be only 15 weeks after turning pro. For comparison, @TigerWoods achieved that feat 8 weeks after turning pro. We’ll see… #OWGR” If the Ryder Cup rookie manages to put his name alongside Woods, he will achieve the glorious dream of seeing his name next to the “main guy” he looked up to since his childhood.

Tiger Woods debuted in 1996, and within few weeks, his name was etched in the top 50 golfers in the OWGR Rankings. The 15-time major champion has dominated the top rankings for most of his career, but not anymore.
With many injuries late, his new ranking as per OWGR Rankings has dropped to 1214th. The G.O.A.T., however, still holds up his tag as one of the elite golfers, and many newcomers are compared to him.
